15 Tips For Traveling

HEY YOU! I need you to do me a favor right now or actually, do this favor for yourself. Drop everything you're doing right now. Go on the computer. Look for cheap tickets somewhere. Buy a ticket to somewhere you have never been. And go. I'll be waiting for you on the other side of the gates, but until then, here are 15 tips about traveling you should consider reading while you're on the plane from yours truly. See you soon!

1. Be ADVENTUROUS

Don't ever let fear be the reason you do not do something. Do things that you would never see yourself doing.

2. Be SPONTANEOUS

Sure, you can have an itinerary that plans out every second of your day, or you can be up for doing something random and just go along with it. Chances are, you will end up having more fun with that instead. Don't think twice about something. "JUST DO IT!" -Nike

3. LIVE

You'll feel the most alive and free when you're traveling, trust me. "What's it going to matter in 30 years?" should be your mindset when going off on adventures, or should just be your life motto actually. Do and try everything.

4. WRITE Everything Down

Make sure that you write down every single one of your crazy adventures and moments that you have experienced, detailed if you'd like, because chances are in 27 years, are you really going to remember that one time you went paddle boarding with your friends and laughed so hard when one of you got hit by a wave and fell down? You might think you will, but life goes by pretty fast, doesn't it Ferris Bueller?

5. EAT!!!!

You need to try and eat everything in site. EVERYTHING. If you are on a diet, it's going to have to be put on hold for a while...or maybe forever.

6. Take TONS Of Pictures

Capture every moment you can. Plus, make sure you have a camera with you as well because the iPhone can only hold so much storage, right Apple?

7. LEARN

When you travel, you are going to learn things that you wouldn't have necessarily learned in your classroom and that's okay. You might actually learn the most when traveling, maybe about the city, the culture, the food, or most importantly, maybe about yourself.

8. Be SOCIAL And Meet NEW People.

It is so important to break out of your shell and socialize, even if you aren't a social butterfly. You are going to meet so many wonderful and great people when you travel and you might fall in love with their stories or them. Hey, it can happen. *Every study abroad student's dream.*

9. LET Your Hair Down

Be loose, be chill. You're on vacation and away from all the stress of everyday life. Enjoy it, please.

10. FIND Yourself.

You will do things you might not have known you enjoyed and could end up loving it, and you're going to wonder where this person has been all your life.

11. Turn Your Phone OFF

If there is anything that you must do when traveling, it is to turn off your phone. Disconnect yourself from the outside world and get lost in all your adventures, please. Your snap chats, social media checking, and updating can wait; they're not going anywhere. Be one with nature and breathe in that fresh air.

12. DO Something That You Think You Will Regret

Chances are, you are going to be so happy and ecstatic that you did that and hey! You'll become a great storyteller.

13. Do NOT Be Cheap

Spend that extra money!!! Go on that trip to Ibiza even if it costs a few more euros. Money can be replaced, memories can't.

14. EXPERIENCE Culture Shock

If your excuse to not travel is, "OMG I can't travel because I'll experience culture shock" and/or "I'll be so lost if I can't speak the language," suck it up and still go. That's the worst excuse EVER and you'll regret it when you look back and don't have these memories. Plus, your grandchildren might get bored of the same old stories.

15. Be Happy

Chill vibes and good times should also be your motto for everything you do, not just traveling.

You're going to be a great storyteller after your adventures, so make sure you're living it up. Appreciate everyone and everything around you; they're going to have an impact on the stories that you'll tell and possibly your life as well! And hey! If you ever need someone to go on any more adventures with you, I'm your girl! Oh and one more thing: if you catch the travel bug, make sure you don't ever cure yourself.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
