New year, new me. It's the same every year. Individuals start off their new year with their resolutions, usually to workout more often, sleep more, eat healthier, or to get better grades. All are very cliche and overused. Instead of having a new years resolution altogether, try doing small little things each day that will improve your overall happiness. There are much simpler and easier ways to make changes that don't make a dramatic impact on your lifestyle. Start off small by maybe waking up five minutes earlier each day or just setting a goal to drink more water. It's the little things that count that can build yourself up for success. Here is a list I composed of little things you can do each day to improve your happiness.

Spend Your Money on Experiences

Instead of spending your money on things, like the new iPhone or Chipolte for the 3rd time that week. Put some money aside and plan a trip to somewhere you've never been or maybe go skydiving or skiing!

Drink More Water

This is an easy one that you are probably sick and tired of hearing about. Drink lots of later, it is refreshing and so much better for you than pop or coffee. Stay hydrated!

Take Naps

If you have the time to spare take a 30-minute power nap. Naps are known to boost memory and give you more energy to tackle your day!

Make Your Bed Every Day

Making your bed in the morning is a great way to start the day will doing something productive and you will for sure appreciate it after a long day.

Cut Out Pop

It's not as hard as it seems. Cutting out pop is so easy to do and it will improve your health tremendously. Stick to tea, water, juice and maybe the occasional Gatorade or lemonade!

Plant Something

Whether it be an indoor plant or an outdoor garden the satisfaction of growing and nurturing something results in great satisfaction.

Yoga

Doing yoga or putting aside time to meditate will relieve a lot of stress and tension you might have building up throughout the week.

Walk Your Dog

Odds are your dog is always willing to go out on a nice little walk. It's something that will make them happy and you, plus you get a nice walk in where you can enjoy the fresh air.

Don't Hold Grudges

Talk it out with the person you are having some sort of controversy with. Grudges can mentally wear you out and make you miserable. Don't go through life angry

Live In The Moment

Stop trying to plan the future. Stop regretting the past, stop wondering what could have happened. Make now count!

Give Back

Nothing gives anymore more satisfaction than giving back and doing a good deed for the day.

Laugh More

Laughing, I personally believe, is one of the best feelings. It makes you very happy and full of amusement.

Hold The Door

Holding the door for someone behind you is a simple thing that can be done every day out of common courtesy for one another.

Be On Time

If you can even be early that's even better.

Be Committed

Whatever you're doing whether it be work, school or sticking to an exercise plan, be committed to it. Get your task done efficiently and to your best ability.

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
