Everyone from small towns knows that they aren't always super accurate when they're depicted on TV (looking at you, Riverdale). They have things that are way too nice or people who are dressed for NY Fashion Week. Basically, they're usually not what a small town is actually like. There is one exception to this rule, however, and it came on October 5, 2000, when Gilmore Girlshit the scene with Stars Hollow (aka the most accurate small town on TV). Stars Hollow is perfectly quirky with just the right amount of weird people. Don't believe me? Here are 15 times that Stars Hollow was the most accurate small town on TV.

1. When they had the weird festivals

Nothing says "classic small town" quite like all of the festivals they had in Stars Hollow. Fall, Thanksgiving, Winter Carnival, Spring Fling, Lazy Crazy Hazy Days of Summer, the Revolutionary War Reenactment, the Dance-a-thon. Yeah. Small towns are all about their festivals, especially if they help increase tourism.

2. Anytime Taylor Doose was in a scene

If you told me that your small town doesn't have their very own Taylor Doose then I'd call you a liar. Every small town has that one guy who is in charge and it went to his head a little. He's usually annoying, but lovable because you know he means well and genuinely wants to help the town. Just don't let him have a gavel!

3. Everything relating to Stars Hollow High

The entire town followed Stars Hollow High sports (remember the episode with the hockey game). All kinds of people went to watch it and most of the businesses had little Stars Hollow High banners hanging in their windows. Everyone remembers Luke's incredibly impressive athletic career when he went there. It's the only school around for miles and miles. Basically, everyone in town is super invested in the high school and what it does.

4. When Babette (and Maury) took care of Lorelai and Rory

One super nice thing about small towns is how great your neighbors are. I think it's safe to say that lots of people who live in one have a Babette that lives next door.

5. When characters drove an hour to Hartford for the nice things

Rory had to go an hour away for Chilton, they drove to Hartford for the mall, and the semi-local rich people live in Hartford. It's one of the most spot on things about the show.

6. Rory and Dean's entire relationship

First everyone wanted them to get together, then everyone knew they were together and thought it was super sweet (while also looking out for Rory because she's their girl and Dean will be "the new kid" for eight to ten more years), then when they broke up literally every single person in the town aside from Dean's family took Rory's "side."

7. When everyone eats at Luke's

Every small town has one really clutch diner that everyone seems to congregate at. It's impossible to go without seeing at least one person you know. It's just a thing.

8. When the entire town shipped Luke and Lorelai

The town spent years (and I mean literal years) wanting Luke and Lorelai to get together. It was a case of classic small town matchmaking. Fortunately, it worked out really well for both of them.

9. Every time Miss Patty was in a scene

Miss Patty is the classic small town gossip with the juicy backstory to her life. Throw in her sidekick Babette and you can probably identify these people in your real life.

10. When they had the Independence Inn (and also the Dragonfly)

Tons of small towns have that one really classy establishment (a hotel lots of times) that no one can understand how it stays open because there isn't that much tourism, but somehow it does and you can always count on having somewhere to host a fancy event or eat a really nice dinner.

11. When the middle of town was so small that Kirk could yell across it

Remember when Kirk had the walkie talkies and couldn't understand how to use "roger"? Yeah. Remember what he also did in that scene? He yelled at the guy on the other side of town. Stars Hollow is so small that Kirk could literally yell across the middle of town and have a conversation.

12. When Jess came to town (and then left and then came back)

Jess arriving in Stars Hollow was big news for WEEKS. Not a few days, not one week, but like an entire season of the show. Newcomers are a big deal in small towns, especially semi-permanent ones.

13. When the Stars Hollow Gazette wrote an article about Lorelai and Rory moving to town

We didn't get this little nugget until A Year In The Life, but it happened and it is small town to the max. A woman moving to town with her one-year-old is newspaper worthy.

14. Every time someone mentioned Woodbury

The town rivalry between Stars Hollow and Woodbury is one of the most legit things in the show. This 100% happens in real life.

15. When everyone helped everyone else

Remember the time that Lorelai needed people to be her test guests at her new business? Or how about the 10 million+ times that Taylor needed volunteers? Or maybe when Kirk needed people to keep him from having one of his insane nightmares in front of Lulu? How about when Lane needed help keeping her band a secret from her mother? Did any of those people have trouble finding someone to help them out (or a bunch of people in some cases)? Nope. Because, true to the typical small town, they were willing to help each other out whenever they needed it.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
