15 Life Lessons We Learned Thanks To 'Grey's Anatomy'

It has made us laugh. It has made us cry. After 11 seasons, “Grey’s Anatomy” continues to capture America through creator Shonda Rhimes' fantastic storytelling abilities. The show has given us some of the greatest episodes in television, as well as some of the greatest quotes on life, love, and loss. Don’t believe me? Read some of the quotes below and reflect on the perfection that is “Grey’s Anatomy.” Beware: A few tears may be shed.

1. When Lexi Grey taught us the meaning of closure after a break-up:

2. When Izzie Stevens showed us how to forgive someone:

3. When Derek Shepard taught us that one day the pain goes away and you will feel better:

4. When Cristina Yang inspired us to work hard and to be unstoppable:

5. When Meredith Grey mentioned that we don't have to be happy 100 percent of the time:

6. When Mark Sloan taught us that when you love someone, you tell them:

7. When Derek was the definition of McDreamy and taught us what we deserve in love and in another person:

8. When Cristina and Meredith showed you what it meant to find your best friend and your person:

9. When Alex Karev told you that the only opinion that essentially matters is your own:

10. When Meredith showed us how to fight for the love we want:

11. When Izzie demonstrated that nothing could be worse than losing the one you love:

12. When Cristina told us to never shape our world around a boy:

13. When George O'Malley summed up how we feel 90 percent of the time:

14. When Addison Montgomery taught us to never give up as there is always still a chance:

15. When Meredith told us that the only person we could ever save is ourselves:

As season 12 premieres on Sept. 24, we will continue to watch the story of Meredith Grey and the doctors at Seattle Grace Hospital. Through 11 seasons, the characters have overcome every disaster, from a bomb threat, to a ferry crash, a thunderstorm, a shooter, and a plane crash, so who knows what will happen next. What we do know, however, is that “Grey’s Anatomy” will continue to touch our hearts and inspire us like it has for the past 11 years. We love you, "Grey's." Always have. Always will.

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
