So, when's lunch?

1. "I have no clue what to wear. What do I bring? How early do I get there?"

We all dress business casual on the first day, and show up and see everyone else wearing jeans and a sweatshirt.

2. "I have no clue where ANYTHING is on this computer!"

Getting your own computer is great, but not when you have no clue where all the files are.

3. "Ugh, I'm hungry."

Two hours in and you already ate all the snacks you brought.

4. "I can't lift this huge package."

In charge of getting the mail, not in charge of breaking your back trying to carry it into the office.

5. "Just a quick 5 minute break so I can watch all my Snapchat stories and see everyone on vacation."

You just need a quick break to see everyone on vacation in the Bahamas and having a great summer, while it's 60 degrees and raining where you are, and you're stuck in a small office.

6. "I'm glad it's not nice out so I don't feel as bad that I'm stuck in here."

At least you're inside since it's raining, even though your bed is a much better place to be.

7. "Thank the Lord. I'm finally finished with this project."

It only took you 30 minutes more than it should because one little thing was messed up, and the customer was asking questions you have no clue what the answer is.

8. "So, when's lunch?"

It's noon and the others still haven't had a lunch break. Your stomach is starting to eat itself at this point.

9. "Why is this not opening?"

Who saved this file in the completely wrong format?

10. "Dang, out of coffee."

And you didn't bring anything else to drink. Guess you'll have to be thirsty the rest of the day.

11."How am I going to get used to getting up early. I need a nap!"

You question how you ever got up early in high school, because your college classes didn't start everyday until noon.

12. "My eyes hurt from looking at this computer screen for 7 hours straight."

Not sure if your eyeballs are going to fall out or if you really need a quick nap, or both.

13. "If one more person calls 2 minutes before closing, I swear."

Please don't call right before close. You had all day and now that I'm done for the day, I wanna leave.

14. "Must. Get. Home. ASAP."

Mom is making dinner and this traffic is a no go.

15. "My bed is sooooo much better than that office chair."

You realize that it's only Monday, but are grateful for the opportunities and the money you are making.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
