If you are in the know about the know, then you have probably heard of Trivia HQ in some way or form. Whether it was your friends hurriedly asking you to answer a question, them complaining how they should've just trusted their first instinct and they'd be moving to question 9 or 10, saw a ton of people playing during the Super Bowl halftime, or if you've been the one to hover over your phone at weird times of the day trying to see if you could win the prize money promised.
This past Sundays game of Trivia HQ, gave out a whopping 25,000 dollars to one lucky winner--not splitting the prize between all winners as usual. I, like the sleep-deprived college student I am, slept through it but don't worry my Trivia HQ championship time will come. For those who don't know what Trivia HQ is, here is a rundown. You basically answer 12 questions and you're given 10 seconds each question and if you answer all 12, which get harder with each question, then you can win all or a portion of the prize pot (usually 2500 but can be more).
1. The giddy feeling you get when the notification pops up to join in the game.
"This is my time." "I am feeling good and I am going to win!"
2. "Okay come on, I understand you have a fancy, little intro but I just want to play. So let's get going PLEASE!"
*You waiting for that countdown to finally start and then the countdown to end so you wait some more until you finally get to playing*
3. "Okay Scott if you tell one more cheesy, pre-written joke I might just exit out of the game right here and now"
4."Hopefully these questions aren't too bad"
5. "Question one isn't too bad. I think I can do this"
When the first questions are pretty chill (as they always are) and you start to get a little cocky
6. "Ten seconds is honestly not enough time to answer a question"
7. "Um, it's glitching! The glitch better not get me out of the game. That'd be totally unfair"
How you feel when it starts to glitch mid-game and you know that means it might kick you out even if you were right.
8. 'What the hell is the answer to 4 or 5?"
9. "Scott please stop talking!"
10. What kind of question even is this? Who would even know the answer to this? Of course, 10,000 people knew the answer."
My follow up thought or question is always: what book do I need to read or what magical society do I need to be a part of to somehow know these answers.
11. "Oh, my guess was right! I'm so smart, maybe I'll even get the next one too."
Or sometimes your friends come in clutch who help you out with the answer. They are the true MVPs.
