15 Thoughts Everyone Has At Lollapalooza

For many Chicagoans, Lollapalooza marks the end of summer. It is a great place to spend with friends before heading off to school just a few weeks later. The weekend long festival leaves you with plenty of memories to spare.

Each day is a new experience with different lineups, weather, and crazy outfits. Despite the Chicago heat and the gigantic crowds, Lollapalooza always hosts a huge turnout. Since Lollapalooza 2017 is one for the books, let's see what everyone was thinking this year.

1. "Let's meet at Perry's!"

The iconic sign that happens to be everyone'sdesignated meeting place.

2. "Is that *name of a friend you haven't seen in years*?"

If they're from Chicago, it's probably them.

3. "My blisters have blisters."

Breaking in your shoes before heading to Grant Park is a must.

4. "Can we get Rainbow Cone?"

Answer: Yes.

5. "I can't wait to shower."

While listening to your Lollapalooza playlist, of course.

6. "Whose glitter is this?"

If you don't leave with glitter on you, did you even go to Lolla?

7. "IT'S SO HOT!!!!"

A breeze cast upon a mosh pit is a gift from the heavens.

8. "Don't step in that vomit."

From lobster corndogs to cans of Red Bull to the long lines at the bathroom, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do -- just don't step in it.

9. "What are they wearing...?"

Whether it's a banana costume or nipple pasties, Lollapalooza outfits always turn heads.

10. "Should we catch the 11:00 or the 11:40?"

Either way, you better plan accordingly before your train leaves early due to passenger overload and you are stuck downtown until 1 a.m.

11. "Do you think I can sneak *Lollapalooza contraband* in?"

If you have to ask, you probably can't (but you'll try anyway).

12. "I think my lungs just fell out of my body"

The bass drops at Perry's are so insane, you can feel them all the way from Lakeshore.

13. "I'm dying."

A very simple statement that's all too real. Translates to: "I am so tired.", "My head hurts.", "Why did I buy a 4-day?", and "I need water."

14. "When I was here last year..."

I'm 100% convinced people start going to Lollapalooza right out of the womb with the number of stories people share about past summers.

15. "I love my city."

Despite all the havoc that goes on at Lollapalooza, everyone loves spending time in the city. Seeing Grant Park transformed into the nation's coolest concert venue is incredible. The skyline hugs the festival and welcomes people from all over to enjoy awesome music.

For better or for worse, we love you, Lollapalooza! Even though we complain sometimes, we will still buy a 4-day. See you next summer!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
