15 Things You Should Know Before You Date A Gym Junkie
Jennifer Yerger

To all of the gym junkies out there--I feel your pain. The constant struggle of whether to go to the gym or to hang out with your significant other is real. Let's just put these 15 facts out there, in the hopes that our significant other sees it and realizes we are not crazy, we are just overly dedicated gym members.

1. We are married to our fitness tracker.

If we do not have on our fitness tracker, we will not move as much and we will feel naked. Always make sure we have it on us, or we will complain the whole time.

2. Our gym time is our time. Unless we ask you to workout with us, we want to be by ourselves.

We go to the gym to escape from the problems of life, not to be reminded of them. Unless you are only going to work out, do not even bother asking if you can join us in our workout. The answer is no.

3. If you complain about how much time we spend at the gym, we will make our schedule more open—by leaving you.

The gym is our escape from life. If you think we are going to spend less time at the gym to be with you, you are wrong. We will leave you before we even consider skipping the gym for you. Sorry not sorry.

5. We are always hungry. Always.

Oh, I just ate a five course meal? Cool. Now I want bagels, chicken, and chocolate milk. Gains.

6. When we complain about our personal trainers, just listen. Do not tell us this is what we signed up for.

8. We are devoted, loyal, and committed- Even if you have to drag us, we will do what we said we would do.

Weare this way in any situation. When we say we will do something, we will do it- no matter how much motivation it may require.

8. At least 85% of our clothes are workout clothes- since we always work out. If we dress in something other than spandex and a sports bra, we must really like you.

You want to dress up every time we get together? That's cute. Let me just wear spandex instead.

9. Gym time comes first. Gains don't wait for anyone.

You will have to make date plans around our gym schedules. We will not waste a rest day on some stupid date.

10. If you buy us anything gym related, we will melt.

Forget chocolate or a card. We want gym clothes and maybe an occasional flower thrown in there sometimes. But mostly gym clothes.

11. We spend a lot of money on things to be healthy. We hate it, too.

We get new pairs of sneakers at least twice a year, which usually are over $85 each pair. Our wardrobe is mostly spandex, which tend to be about $45 depending on the brand. We pay for our gym membership and anything else we added onto it like personal training, etc.. We hate watching our bank account drain, too.

12. Get used to no makeup and tons of sweat.

If we do have makeup on, it all comes off with the sweat, anyway. Most people view sweat as the most disgusting thing ever, but we wear it with pride. It means we had a good workout and pushed ourselves.

13. Don't ever tell us we are getting too bulky.

Just because we look better than you and lift more than you, does not mean you have a right to tell us we are "too bulky." If you ever feel that way, it's time for you to go to the gym too.

14. We take a lot of progress pics. Just let it happen.

If you do not take a progress pic, is there really any progress? Obviously not.

15. We are ambitious and will help lead the way to success.

When we want something, we do everything we can to get it. In the gym, in a relationship, in life- expect us to put forth a huge effort into anything and everything we are involved in.

It is not easy dating someone who is married to the gym, but I can guarantee you we are worth it. We will be more dedicated and ambitious than anyone else you will ever be with, just give us a chance. You will love showing us off in the summer. Just be patient with our dedication to the gym- it will pay off for both of us.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
