Nowadays almost everyone uses a GPS when going to unfamiliar places. Sometimes I even use it to go places I have been to and just don't remember how to get there. GPS has a wonderful feature which reroutes you when you miss a turn or when you turn too early. God's GPS has this feature and more.

1. ONLY GOD KNOWS THE FINAL DESTINATION

As humans, it is in our nature to want to be in control. I don't know about you, but being in control is a feeling I tend to love. In fact, in it is one of my biggest battles at the moment. So, not knowing what the future might hold might make us wonder or even wish we knew, but God's GPS doesn't work like that. Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future".

2. WE CAN TAKE SHORTCUTS

Just like when we are driving and we think we know our way around and we start taking shortcuts, in life we tend to do the same. Sometimes those shortcuts are not the way, but we do them anyways. Those shortcuts are part of the journey which is why God let them happen.

3. BUT, GOD WILL REROUTE US WHEN NEEDED

Psalm 23:2-3 "He makes me lie down in green pastures,he leads me beside quiet waters,he refreshes my soul.He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake".

4. GOD'S GPS DOESN'T USE DATA

5.GOD'S GPS DOESN'T USE WIFI

6. YOU DON'T EVEN NEED A PHONE

7. YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW HOW TO DRIVE

8.BECAUSE HE WILL TAKE THE WHEEL

9. THE ONE TOOL HE GIVES US IS THE BIBLE

10. GOD'S GPS DOESN'T TAKE US ON STRAIGHT ROADS

11.GOD'S GPS DOESN'T GIVE US THE OPTION TO TAKE THE FASTEST ROUTE

12. GOD'S GPS DON'T GIVE AN ARRIVAL TIME

13. BECAUSE HIS TIMING IS PERFECT

14. HE MIGHT MAKE YOU STOP OR TAKE DETOUR

15. BUT, YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY BECAUSE GOD'S GPS IS PERFECT

I said all this to encourage you friends. If you are not where you want to be in life right now, or if you are thinking that God might be forgetting you, I want to tell you that He doesn't and He never will. Trust in the Lord, Trust in his TIMING because it is perfect.

At times, we don't open our hearts to let God do His work, so ask yourself if you are letting Him, or are you taking your own direction. The more we take our own direction, the longer the process might be, so let us be obedient children while we enjoy the ride to our final destination.

Xoxo,

DD

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
