Dads are the first men to have our hearts. They treasure us and care of res and make us feel loved. We admire them and strive to make them proud. For those us lucky enough o have their dad as an active and involved aspect of their life, we become accustomed to having him around 24/7 to help us out of every sticky situation. Spider in your bedroom? Don't worry, he's right down the hall. Got a flat tire? He'll drive five minutes and help you change it. But once we leave the safety of his nest and go off to the great unknown that is college, we quickly realize just how often we needed our dad for help. These are just a few of the many things you probably calling and asking your dad.
1. "How do I set up my TV?"
Is it red cable to red cable? The screen is all fuzzy...now it's black.
2. "What are taxes?"
And do I need to pay them?
3. "Should I hang a picture with a nail or a screw?"
Which one will leave a smaller hole in my dorm wall?
4. "How do I write a check?"
Wait, do I even have a checkbook?
5. "I think my hair clogged the drain, what do I do?"
Ew, ew, ew, ew. Can't you just come and do this one for me?
6. "Can you book me a flight home?"
Don't you miss me already???
7. "What should I do with my life?"
I know I always hated when you told me what to do to, but please just for one last time- tell me what to do!
8. "Can you put money in my account, please?"
It'll be like an advance on my Christmas gift.
9. "How do I grill a burger?"
A barbecue sounded like a really good idea.
10. "Why hasn't Mom called me back?"
Did she die or something, it's been like two days.
11. "How does the stock market work?"
Everyone else in my Econ class seems to already know.
12. "So, my room will still be available when I graduate right?"
Free housing>>> paying for my own place
13. "Can you check my resume?"
And maybe have your work friends read it over too.
14. "Can you send that blue sweatshirt I left home?"
I really wanted to wear it yesterday.
15. "How do I survive without you here?"
Thank you Dad, I love you.
