As summer quietly leaves and fall roars in, we not only say goodbye to hometown friends but what I hope was a great summer for you. While, we all may have blues about school and the impending assignments, I know you will do great. When things become more challenging, I hope you turn to this article for some inspiration. Good luck this semester...go kill it!

1. Oh the Places You'll Go

Okay, so this one is inspired from my favorite childhood book but I think Dr. Seuss remains relevant no matter your age. For it's true that a new year can bring a host of opportunities. So pack a camera, a journal, an open mind and see where this year takes you.

2. Breathe

There will probably come a time this semester where you feel slightly overwhelmed. Just take a deep breathe, everything will be okay.

3. Smile

According to "Pick Your Brain" smiling is contagious, it gives you a better immune system, and it brightens your mode. It takes one simple facial expression to do incredible things, so whether it boost your immune system or brightens someone else day, you are doing a great thing! :)

4. Branch Out

I see so often that people get attached to their friend groups. Yes maybe you were best friends last year but things change, there is nothing wrong with meeting new people.

5. Eat

This one is really for me. With the commitments picking up, there will be moments that you forget to eat but please for your well-being EAT!

6. You Got This

This is probably the most important because at times it will feel like you are alone in the middle of a sea but your not. You can handle more then you image so just remember to breathe and remind yourself that you got this.

7. Study

Sometimes the party will sound more fun, the late ice cream run will sound like the perfect fix, and the Netflix break will turn from 1 episode to 12. Academics come first so study first then enjoy.

8. Take Breaks

It's okay to take breaks, in fact you will need them. Be conscious of how long they are though and only take them when they are appropriate.

9. Go to Office Hours

Your professors are there to help you throughout the semester. Not only does it often help you but it makes a great impression when your regularly come and visit.

10. Dress Nice

Sometimes it is easier to through sweats and a t-shirt on but it also takes the same time to throw on jeans, a dress, or skirt. Looking nice for class will not only brighten your spirits but make a great impression.

11. Join Clubs

I don't know how some people can waste 4 years not getting involved on campus. I am also someone who wants to be involved in everything but find your happy medium. Clubs will not only introduce you to more peers but it will also introduce you to important people on campus.

12. Treat Yourself

Netflix is a college student's best friends. On the weekend, on a less busier night, or just an afternoon in replacement of a nap feel free to watch Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. or go for a walk or shopping. Do something for yourself.

13. Don't let others judge you

This is your experience and no one else. If they are more concerned about what you are doing then they are not worth your time.

14. Ask for Help

There will be times that you need to ask for help. It does not make you any less of a person, in fact, it makes you a bigger person because you recognize you cannot do it all.

15. Call Home

Your family is your biggest support system, they want to hear about every little detail of your life so don't hesitate to call frequently.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
