Not everyone has a significant other that they can spend Valentine's Day with. If you're one of the many people celebrating Single's Awareness Day on the 14th, here are some ideas for what to do other than cursing all of your exes or mindlessly swiping through Tinder.
1. Treat yourself to a spa day.
Get that manicure or pedicure that you've been wanting for a long time. Feel good for yourself.
2. Go see that movie that you've been wanting to see forever.
If it's in theaters, grab your friends and go splurge on a movie ticket and popcorn. Or, settle for a Netflix movie and make dinner at home.
3. Sign up for a new class.
Whether it's pilates, barre, or a painting class, it's a perfect day to indulge yourself in a new hobby.
4. Bake something sweet for you and all of your single friends.
Valentine's Day is all about love, and who doesn't love cupcakes?
5. Finish something that you've been putting off.
Look through all of your past clothing loves while you clean out your closet.
6. Go play put-put, go-karts, or laser tag.
Why not be a kid again, when no one had Valentine's?
7. Take a day trip to a new place.
For the single girl hoping to not see many of her not-single friends.
8. Buy yourself something new.
You still deserve a Valentine's Day gift.
9. Volunteer.
Share the love with those who need it.
10. Read a romance novel.
Live vicariously through someone else's great love.
11. Work.
Pick up that shift that none of your co-workers want and take your mind off of being single.
12. Visit family.
Who cares who it is as long as you're with the ones that you love?
13. Explore the outdoors.
Take a hike and breathe some fresh air.
14. Have a TV marathon.
I definitely recommend "Sex and the City!"
15. Appreciate being single.
Enjoy the time you have to worry about yourself and do the things you want to do.
