2016 has shown to be a very pivotal and history changing year. Bernie Sanders, a former Senator for the Socialist party was almost neck-and-neck with Hillary Clinton for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. Mrs. Clinton, a former first lady and Secretary of State, has made history as the first woman to win a top party nomination for the presidency -- even after a nasty e-mail scandal. The Republican Party is being led by a business tycoon and television celebrity, whose favorite past time is talking about this big wall he wants to build along the southern border of the United States.
Gun rights are the hottest topic in politics, aside from police brutality and Black Lives Matter. We live in a world where we are bombarded by politics and social issues through every orifice of media. You turn on the television or radio and they are talking about what's happening in the Middle East and with the president and the election. You open Facebook or Twitter and everyone is bashing Clinton for being a terrorist and traitor and for Trump being a fascist and an idiot.
And you know what? I am so sick of it. So for the sake of hilarity, I have compiled a list of things I would absolutely love to hear about more than Clinton or Trump, or anything else remotely political.
1. How much money I am racking up in student loan debt.
2. The rise in tuition at my institute of higher education.
3. How my bank over drafted my account and won't refund my fee.
4. How comfortable my mother felt during her colonoscopy.
5. How many people called in to work at my job.
6. How I have to clean the toilet.
7. About my uncle's last bowel movement (Hint: It was a doosey).
8. That my dog just died.
9. That I still only make minimum wage at my job.
10. The thoughts anticipating my next gynecological exam.
11. How someone hasn't showered at all in three or four days.
12. Hearing the sound of smacking gum.
13. Watching kids destroy a display I just created at work.
14. Balancing my check book.
15. Talking to any customer service operator that speaks English as a second language.
