I live and learn in the tiny town of Lebanon, IL. For anyone who has no idea where that is, it's about half an hour from St. Louis. I love this super small town and the university that lives there, and though the number of people living in this area is small, there are certain undeniable truths we can all identify with.
1. The list of things I'd rather do than turn left out of the McDonald's/Dollar General parking lot is extensive.
It's honestly easier to turn right and drive around the entire town than it is to turn left.
2. You believe that the Chinese restaurant would make SO MUCH MONEY if they'd deliver.
I don't wanna put real pants on to go get Chinese food!
3. You felt personally attacked when Las Cabs closed...
So sad.
4. ... then you got excited when Las Tres Marias opened...
Margaritas and queso!!! YES!!!
5. ... and you felt an extreme sense of victory when Las Cabs became a liquor store.
"CAN THIS GET ANY BETTER???"
6. Brickstreet Brew is better than Starbucks.
Bless the staff for continuing to make Butterbeer Lattes for me and my roommate.
7. You think Lebanon needs a Jimmy Johns and/or a Taco Bell.
Seriously.
8. If you're not a college student, you avoid DQ like the plague on Mondays.
We don't mess around with half-priced Dairy Queen day.
9. The Looking Glass Playhouse amazed you the first time you saw a production there.
I was blown away! If you haven't been, go.
10. You love Lebanon's cute holiday celebrations, but closing St. Louis Street (AKA Brickstreet) is sort of a pain.
"UGH. I just want Dairy Queen!"
11. For being a small town, our restaurants are pretty top notch.
1814, Las Tres, The Refuge. All good options.
12. If you're at McKendree, you have to resign yourself to the fact that parking will be a nightmare.
They try, but holy cow is it a mess.
13. The stoplight being installed was the highlight of your week.
Our town has one stoplight. That's how small it is.
14. Your heart lights up when the Christmas lights go up on St. Louis Street.
It looks like a movie!
15. This little town is adorable, and we love it.
Self explanatory.
