16 Things All Orientation Leaders Can Relate to

The job of an Orientation Leader is one of a kind. It's long days, hard work, and sometimes a little too much enthusiasm. But it has been by far my favorite volunteer and leadership opportunity I've had the chance to experience. I know different schools do orientation in various ways but I think all OLs will relate to the following in some way.

1. You get to move back early.

2. You smile so much your face hurts.

3. You lose your voice.

4. Constant enthusiasm.

5. Training sessions.

6. Play-fair...You always give your play-fair buddy the secret handshake.

7. Coffee.

8. Your orientees are your kids.

9. Over exhaustion.

10. You're constantly yelling.

11. Team Building Games.

12. Did I mention coffee?

13. You make all kinds of new friends.

14. You're there to comfort others.

15. And others will be there to comfort you.

16. You'll be back for more next year.

Having a few drinks--or five--I relieved myself to, nevertheless, flush the toilet. Within seconds, his bathroom was flooded and towels were laid out everywhere to catch the toilet water. To say the least, we were not invited back"

5 Untold Struggles Of The Short Friend

I'm the Short Friend. I've been the Short Friend since about the seventh grade. I'm the one who stands in the front of the photos, gets made fun of for their height, and still shops in the kids department.

This article is not for the Almost Short Friends, i.e. the 5'3" and 5'4" Friends. No no, this is for the Actually Short Friends, i.e. the Barely Scraping 5'1" and shorter Short Friends.
