Figure skating is its own world. It is portrayed as strong and graceful when it comes time for the Olympics, but in reality it is harsh, cold, and so much fun. Here are 11 things only figure skaters can relate to.

1. Hitting freshly zamboni-ed ice and feeling free.

2. Wiping out over and over again.

3. Getting up at o'dark 30 to skate before school.

4. You thought stage moms were bad? Just wait until you see skating moms.

5. Having a love/hate relationship with your toe picks.

6. "When are you going to the Olympics?"

7. Hearing a song and choreographing a routine to it in your head.

8. Wondering which version of "White Christmas" you should skate to for the Christmas show this year.

9. Feeling like Ashley Wagner when your coach made you do pushups on the ice.

10. We use Swarvoski crystals, NOT sequins.

11. Three words: Zuca. Bag. Races.

12. When people disrespect your space during practice ice.

13. Loving Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski. #dreamteam.

14. Being able to quote every line from "Blades of Glory" and understanding every inside joke

15. Feeling like you're flying.

Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
