Makeup is a blessing and a curse. It can help cover any flaw while accentuating any feature, but it comes with a decent amount of baggage. When I first started wearing makeup at the ripe age of 14, I never realized how addicting it could be. Now, I'm a makeup addict and probably couldn't survive without my favorite products. But I know I'm not the only one. Here are 15 things that only makeup addicts truly understand:

1. Makeup can transform you from normal girl to boss queen.

There's just something so satisfying about rocking a good contour or bold lip color.

2. No matter what you're doing that day, you feel the need to wear makeup.

Whether you're going out with your friends, going on date night, or just going to the store you always find an excuse to wear makeup.

3. Sephora and Ulta are your fave shopping places.

You make an excuse to go inside anytime you're out shopping.

4. But you can find some great deals at other places too.

Why spend $20 on a beauty blender when you can get a makeup sponge at Walmart for less than $8?

5. Applying makeup isn't just a routine, it's an art form.

Your face is your canvas, and makeup is your supplies.

6. Your recent searches on YouTube are probably makeup tutorials.

I mean, who doesn't want to watch 5 videos on how to get the perfect smokey eye?

7. Your Pinterest feed is also filled with different makeup looks/tutorials/hacks.

Those hacks are honestly life savers.

8. Liquid eyeliner is either your best friend or mortal enemy

Trying to have your winged eyeliner even on both eyes is honestly more difficult than Calculus.

9. Your makeup collection is overflowing.

The struggle is real when your makeup doesn't fit in the same bag.

10. But you're always thinking how you need more.

While you try to convince yourself you need another pink liquid lipstick, just remember you already have 5 shades of pink.

11. You understand the importance of eyebrows.

They can make or break your face.

12. Mascara is your best friend until you get it on your eyelids.

You spent all that time blending your eyeshadow just to have little black dots on your crease.

13. This is your reaction when people say things like "You're naturally pretty" or "You don't need all that makeup."

They mean well, but makeup isn't just a tool to hide insecurities. It's a way of life.

14. When boys say "I like girls who are natural" and you know that most of the time those girls are also wearing makeup.

Sorry to break it to you, boys.

15. But then you remember you don't care what other people think.

It's your face, your rules. You wear makeup for yourself, not other people. Please continue to slay the game.

Makeup is a great way to express yourself, so there is nothing wrong with being entranced by beauty products. Keep doing you, boo.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
