15 Things That Kids Who Grew Up In The 2000's Will Understand

90's kids weren't the only ones to have a sweet childhood.

We all get nostalgic from time to time about our childhoods, and I've been feeling that very much as I watch my younger sister get older. It was a simpler time filled with roller ball lip gloss and Drake and Josh (the shows are definitely what I miss the most).

1. She was the coolest kid in Kindergarten and First Grade.

I don't know any kid that didn't read these books. We all lived vicariously through her five year old shenanigans, and wished that we could be as awesome as she was.

2. You knew the biggest secret in, like, the entire world.

We felt like secret agents knowing that Miley Stewart was living a double life as teen pop star Hannah Montana.

3. You cut off your circulation with shaped rubber bands.

We even traded these for what we thought were better shapes, even though they were all just expensive rubber bands. I know I used to walk to 7-11 almost everyday to buy a new pack of Silly Bandz, just so I could line them all the way up to my elbows.

4. You got to see technology quickly advance from this:

It's almost crazy to see just how quickly technology has advanced. How much more can it change?

To this:

5. You always wanted a twin because of these guys.

They were twins that also got to live in an awesome hotel, who wouldn't want that? They lived in a place with a candy counter and a girl with a talking mirror; that would be the coolest thing ever.

6. Your internet addiction started here.

Club Penguin was my personal favorite, but I definitely asked for Webkinz for every birthday also. I was even one of the lucky kids that was able to convince my mom to buy me a membership, so I was able to have a mansion of an igloo and all of the cool clothes.

7. Gauchos were a popular clothing item in your school.

Why were we even allowed to leave the house in these? They were incredibly comfortable, but so, so hideous.

8. 678-999-8212 is more than just a phone number.

I miss ya, I miss ya, I really wanna kiss you but I can't

9. We didn't need One Direction when we had these guys.

How else would we know that the people in the year 3000 live underwater and that your great-great-great-granddaughter is doing fine?

10. Crocs were actually cool at one point in time.

We even got to put charms in the holes, because what is fashion without charms?

11. We rode around in style.

You can't drive until you're 16, so we solved that by putting wheels on our feet. Of course we all wiped out, but we were never going to look uncool and wear helmets and ride our bikes.

12. These guys fooled all of us into thinking high school would be fun.

Spoiler alert: high school is NOT jumping up on the tables and singing your troubles away.

13. These were disgusting, but you ALWAYS begged for them at the grocery store anyways.

If you want some questionable chicken nuggets and fake dessert, then this is what you're looking for.

14. They were the fiercest girl group of all time.

They were more than just friends, they were cheetah sister's.

15. Hilary Duff was a complete icon (and still is).

She was amazing as Lizzie McGuire, and she was amazing when she started making music. I will always jam out to her album 'Most Wanted'.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
