As of January 2016, there are over 29 million registered Fitbit users. They are sold in over 50 countries with more than 70 percent of sales in the US. Now you are one of those 29 million users. You were at first bothered by the chunky band but now that band never leaves your wrist. Your Fitbit is your life and your most precious possession.

1. You have a thick tan line from your Fitbit

Wearing your Fitbit all day, in the sun, where you can get a tan, will give you a very visible tan line. Luckily no one will ever see it because you never take off your Fitbit.

2. You are constantly monitoring your steps.

You have your daily goal of 10,000 steps and you need to get those steps. You will look at your step count about every 20 minutes just to see where you are at. When working out, you constantly are monitoring where your steps are at to reach your goal.

3. You are jealous of people who get the newest Fitbit.

From the Zip, to the Flex, to the Charge, to the Charge HR, to the Alta, and then to the Blaze, we are constantly upgrading. However, these are expensive and we can't always upgrade to the latest version. When we see someone who has upgraded, they get the evil eye for how jealous we are of them.

4. You love meeting another Fitbitter.

You just found a new best friend. Someone who is as addicted to their Fitbit as you are. Constantly talking about where you are in your daily goals and how you are going to get there. They are your motivation to help you get through the day.

5. You realize that you aren't really burning as many calories a day as you thought you were.

The three mile run you just went on that was only 250 calories. You could burn that by sitting watching a horror movie with your heart rate being higher.

6. You let everyone know when you reach 10,000 steps.

You have finally reached your goal and you're now ready for the whole world to know. That is your greatest accomplishment of the day.

7. When you skip a day you have to explain to your friends why your step count was so low.

You didn't mean to forget your Fitbit at home. Most of the time you leave it on the charger and walk out of the house without it.

8. You get upset when you exercise in water.

All of that hard work isn't shown for. Your friends can't see that you worked out and your daily goals will be slightly off from what you actually did.

9. You realize how bad your sleep schedule is.

Now that many of the newer Fitbits track heart rate, they also monitor your sleep schedule. The app displays when you fell asleep, how many times you were awake or restless, and then when you woke up. Looking at all that information, the eight hours of sleep you thought you got was really only five.

10. Walking from your dorm to class isn't as many steps as you had thought.

That 15 to 20 minute walk is only about 1,500 steps. Before you exercise you are already at 3,000 steps!

11. You always wear it out.

The pictures from the wedding you went to this summer were photobombed by your Fitbit. You have it on shopping, exercising, out to lunch, and on nights out with friends.

12. You take the stairs just to get your floors in.

In your dorm, living on the top floor, you take the stairs instead of the elevator. At work you take the stairs instead of taking the elevator. Those 10 floors of stairs are one of the easiest goals you have from your Fitbit.

13. You exercise only to get your steps in.

After you get back from school or work and are dead tired but only have 5,000 steps, you know you have to go for a walk or run. You need to feel that vibration on your wrist for getting your 10,000 steps.

14. You check your Fitbit more than your phone.

You are constantly checking where your steps are. You need to make sure you are getting your 250 steps every hour as well as 10,000 a day. You know how much you walk and how much more you need to throughout the day. Luckily those text messages can wait.

15. Even when you're done with it, you really aren't done with it.

After a couple days of not wearing your Fitbit you lose sight of wanting to wear it. You aren't motivated to want to put it on or keep track since you haven't been lately. Who are you kididng, go put that sucker on and go for a run!

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.

Tamatoa created a liar filled with shiny things simply for the purpose of tricking fish to enter and become his food. He too experiences a lesson in how easy it is to be tricked by shiny things when Moana distracts him by covering herself in glowing algae so Maui can grab his hook.
