1. Calling instead of texting.

Why should I type everything out, when I can just call? That dang auto correct gets me every time!

2. Drinking disgusting amounts of coffee, because nine hours of sleep just isn’t enough.

One coffee by 8:30 a.m., nine coffees by 10:30 a.m.

3. Friday nights are well spent when it involves saltine crackers and a good movie.

OH! "Eat Pray Love," you go Julia Roberts! The movie is just as good as the book! Better get some water for these crackers, this is going to be a long night. * goes to bed at 9*

4. Having a Pinterest board for every house thing and household item, including future kitchen designs, and casserole recipes.

Yes, I should have a drying rack made of barn wood for the laundry room I don't even have yet.

5. Large sweaters for every day of the week.

Thank god everyone thinks these are cool now; I fit in with the crowd.

6. Buying a candle every time you pass by Bath and Body Works.

Mahogany Teak Wood is back FINALLY! Maybe I should switch it up and go for a Leaves?!? I have heard amazing reviews on Facebook.

7. Making lists about lists, because remembering to do everything is too much.

I need to get groceries; I should make a list for that. I also need to clean my room; make another list!

8. I can never seem to find my glasses or my keys.

How am I supposed to find my glasses without my glasses?

9. Having to look up new lingo, because these kid’s vernacular is too complex.

Urban Dictionary, this one's for you.

10. Having all medical supplies on hand, just in case.

Band-aids in my glove box, Advil in my middle console, and to top it all off, I even have those dirty cough drops at the bottom of my purse ... just in case.

11. Everything must be neat and orderly in case you have company.

Make my bed every morning, no dishes in the sink. Maybe I should check Pinterest for new ways to organize my closet.

12.Not being able to eat certain foods because they give you heart burn.

Gluten free, Dairy Free, Soy Free, Sugar Free, MSG Free,GMO Free, Low in Sodium, Nutrient Rich! All things that sound incredibly appealing to this grandma.

13.Loving to knit on the daily.

Knit, Knit, Knit all day, every day. It's not a hobby, it's a life style choice.

14. All you need in life are pugs and cats.

They have wrinkles, always want to cuddle, and they love naps. Pets are great.

15. You have the heart and soul of living a long life, in such a short time.

Even though you love to live like a grandma, you're still super fun and everyone thinks your adorable. What is not to love?

This is Dedicated to my lovely Grandmas for always teaching me to love the little things, and always sparking my creativity. I love you guys!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
