Growing up, I was never much of a "cat person." Quite honestly, they scared the life out of me. It wasn't until Thanksgiving break of 11th grade when my sister revealed to my parents that she had sneaked a little kitten into her dorm room at college. Of course, being the broke college student she was, the financial responsibility to care for the little guy fell onto my shoulders. Suddenly, I had a cat. Ever since that day, I have been completely enamored with him. Now I am here to shed a light on my daily life with cats from their perspective-- since I have acquired yet another kitten since then. Just because you've never been a "cat person" does not mean that you might not one day fall in love with one yourself.

1. Time to wake up!

"Listen, we know it's four A.M. and you have to be up in two hours for work, but we are ready to get this day going."

2. You're finally awake!

"This means we can weave in between your legs as you walk up the steps and give you a heart attack when you trip over us!"

3. FOOOOD!!!

"You literally just fed us less than eight hours ago and even though the vet says we're overweight, we promise we are actually starving right now."

4. You're leaving?

"Yes, we know you have to work to buy us nice things, but we are still going to sit at the door and in the window and watch as you drive away. Feel guilty yet?"

5. Yay, you're home!

"We've actually been sleeping all day so we totally forgot that you left, but we'll still act like we're super excited to see you!"

6. Treats?

"The thing you just opened sounds exactly like our treat bag so we're not going to leave you alone until we get some."

7. What's that?

"That looks interesting. We should probably push it off of the table."

8. New toy?

"You bought us all these expensive toys that we never touch, but inexpensive trash on the floor is the coolest playground ever."

9. Hungry. Again.

"You've walked past our almost-empty food bowls like five times already. Just give us some dinner for crying out loud."

10. WET FOOD!?

"We may not know our names or any commands, but we sure as heck know the sound of that can opening."

11. Cat nap

"Do not disturb. Our bellies are full and we need to conserve energy so we can run around the house all night."

12. Hide and go seek.

"We hear you frantically searching for us everywhere after you accidentally left the garage door open, but we're going to stay right where we are while you tear the house apart looking for us."

13. Bed?

"But, we just woke up! It's actually time to play. Get back here."

14. CRASH!

"Psst, hey. We know it's the middle of the night, but you should probably come check on us to make sure we're okay. Also, the lamp is broken."

15. Thank you.

"We know we can be loud, stinky, and annoying, but we are really thankful that you gave us this cool home to live in!"

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
