If you go to Oakland University, then you have heard of “Club Kresge”. Also known as the 4th floor of the Kresge Library, this is the best place to go for finals… if you do not want to get anything done. Below, I have listed the 15 things you know if you study at the Kresge Library for Finals.
1. For about the first few hours at the Lib, you spend your time talking to your friends rather than getting any actual work done.
2. Finding a place to sit or even a study room is like the Hunger Games.
3. You find every excuse you can not to study whether it is catching up with friends, walking around looking for friends, grabbing food downstairs, or heading to social media to avoid the next finals mental breakdown.
4. You will see at least one person sleeping and another having a mental breakdown.
5. By ten at night, you are wondering where the day went and actually realize that you have to study.
6. Things get weird in the library after midnight. If you don’t know, go see it for yourself.
7. Caffeine is your best friend during exams whether you prefer coffee, energy drinks, tea, or pop to stay awake.
8. Diets are not an option during exam finals because food is your only salvation.
9. You not remember half of the things on the final paper or assignment and question when you even learned it.
10. The free food Oakland gives you on study nights will not change the fact that this final will make or break your grade.
11. Your papers and study materials will soak up the tears you shed as you realize that you could make more money being a stripper than trying to get a degree.
12. Resorting to roll around in the rolling chairs becomes your only source of entertainment.
13. Finding a plug to charge your phone or laptop is harder than finding water in the desert.
14. Sleep? What even is sleep during exam finals?
15. In all reality, you are going to be fine and you will pass. Study hard grizzlies, you’ve got this.
