15 Struggles Anyone Who Loves Makeup Will Understand

The love-hate relationship we all have with our makeup.

15 Struggles Anyone Who Loves Makeup Will Understand

1. Feeling your foundation melt off on a hot day

Surviving warm summer days with your makeup intact is one of the most difficult tasks to endure.

2. Making plans with a friend and getting a text that reads “I’ll be there in 20”

Do you not realize it takes me 20 minutes just to decide which Naked palette to use?

3. Getting a paycheck and immediately running to Sephora

I have no self-control, but I honestly don’t care.

4. Having one eyebrow that always looks amazing, but the other that can't get it together

I can always count on my left eyebrow, but I don't even trust the right one.

5. Making your winged eyeliner PERFECT, but then realizing you have no idea how to replicate it onto your other eye

I never have more focus, concentration, or artistic ability than when I’m trying to get that perfect winged eyeliner.

6. Thinking your makeup is flawless, but then walking into different lighting and it’s a completely different story

How can some lighting be so nice to me, but other lighting be so cruel?

7. Before vs. After a night out

Nothing is worse than coming home, looking in a mirror, and wondering, “At what point did half of my eyebrow rub off and why didn’t anyone tell me one of my lashes fell off?”

8. Watching one innocent tutorial on contouring turns into a four hour binge fest of makeup tutorials

I swear my makeup tutorial binges are worse than my Netflix binges.

9. “I’m going to do natural makeup today.”

Somehow whenever I say this I end up with a smokey eye and winged eyeliner?

10. When someone tries to touch your face

My highlight is my pride and joy; do not take that away from me with your sticky hands.

11. Getting your mascara perfect… and then blinking

Is looking like a raccoon in style?

12. Or worse… getting your face makeup perfect and then smearing your face with your mascara

RIP to my contour.

13. Having the best makeup day, but not leaving the house

I’ll post a selfie on my story, it’s basically the same thing, right?

14. Listening to people say, “You would be so much prettier if you didn’t wear SO much makeup”.

I do not need you or your negativity in my life.

15. Always running out of space for your makeup

I don’t think there will ever be a time where I’ve completed my makeup collection, but I don’t want to live in a world where that happens.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
