If it isn't you then I can guarantee that there is someone in your life who is super clumsy. I myself am a relatively clumsy person, and I'm sure it could be worse, but the letters C-L-U-M-S-Y seem to be written in my DNA. For all of my fellow clumsy people here are some struggles I am sure you understand.
1. No Inch of Earth is Safe
As a clumsy person leaving your house is just a risk all together, but even your house itself poses danger. No inch of ground is safe for you. You manage to trip over air and on flat surfaces so forget anything remotely hilly or rough.
2. Taking the Stairs = Risking Your Life
Stairs...Where do I begin. Any and every staircase you take is a step in risking your life. You don't just fall down them, but up them as well. If it makes you feel any better I think I've fallen up or down every staircase on my campus.
3. Your Hands Are Made of Grease
You give a whole new meaning to the term Grease Lightning. Many of the things you touch seem to fall right out of your hands and at lightning speed. Most likely you've dropped or knocked over everything in your shower and cracked your phone screen at least once.
4. Revolving Doors are a No Go
Anytime you see a revolving door you hope there is a normal entrance nearby and if you can't find one you have to risk getting caught in the door or not going in at all.
5. You Have Many Mystery Injuries
Each day you seem to wake up with a new bruise or cut and you honestly have no idea where it came from.
6. Winter is Your Worst Nightmare
When winter comes around you might as well lock yourself inside. An icy surface is a breeding ground for injury.
7. Heels? What are those?
You don't dare to wear heels because you know you will probably fall flat on your face. Heck you can't even walk normal in flat shoes so why bother wearing something more extreme.
8. Wearing New Clothes is a Risky Decision
When you wear new clothes you probably only keep them on for a couple of hours or take them off when you eat because you are prone to spills.
9. Your Silverware Won't Stay on the Table
I cannot tell you how many times I have gone to sit down at the table and my silverware just magically flies off. The worst is when you go to get your fallen silverware and your chair falls over.
10. You Rearrange the Furniture on Accident
When you enter a room you somehow don't see the table or couch right in front of you. You proceed to walk into it and push it where it doesn't belong. You have created your own way to Feng Shui.
11. Forget Trying to Be Quiet
There are times in life when you try to be quiet, but it always fails because your hands slip, your feet tangle, and you knock into everything in site.
12. Your Own Feet are a Hazard
Feet... They are a gift from God, but an extreme hazard for clumsy people. You can't seem to get out of bed or out of chair without getting them caught on something, someone, or one another.
13. Things Magically Appear in Front of You
It's as if that light post wasn't in front of you three seconds ago.
14. You Are Always Caught in Something
If you aren't caught up on your feet then most likely you are caught in a door, a sweater, or any other inanimate object.
15. Trying to be Graceful is Just a Waste of Time
There are times where you try to be graceful, but it just fails and you give up.
To my fellow clumsy people I know you get me and no matter how clumsy you are you are almost always guaranteed a laugh, whether it comes from you or those watching. Just embrace it and realize it's how God wanted you to be!
