As spring semester comes to a close, more and more people are feeling the drag that waiting for the end brings. At the same time people are starting to feel anxious and stressed about finals and bringing grades up. To help you guys through this time, here are my top 15 songs to help keep you motivated and calm during these last few weeks.

15. "Keep Your Head Up" by Andy Grammer

This is one of my go-to songs because of the message that it tells: keep your head up, relax and everything will be OK! It's a great song for when I need to relax and not worry about what I'm studying for. I can say to myself, "I got this. Everything will be fine."

14. "Run the World (Girls)" by Beyoncé

This song is a song that I will put on when I'm getting ready to go to class because of the fast tempo. It makes getting ready easier, because I sing along and dance to it and by the time that it's done, I'm ready to go to class!

13. "Livin' On a Prayer" by Bon Jovi

This is one of my all-time favorite songs. It's a song that I use when getting ready for class and to take stress away. It's easy to rock out to and dance to. It's one of those songs that you can imagine yourself singing in front of a huge crowd where people are cheering and singing along.

12. "Talking to the Moon" by Bruno Mars

Yes this song is about missing someone, but it's good for when you need to take a step back from what you're doing and put your head down for a couple of minutes. The slower tempo makes it an easy song to listen to which in turn makes it relaxing (at least for me). I'm able to forget about what I'm doing for those couple of minutes and just listen and relax.

11. "Blown Away" by Carrie Underwood

This song makes me feel so powerful whenever I put it on. It's about blowing everything from the past away and basically starting new. It's a great song for when you need that extra motivation to finish what you're doing and not give up on it.

10. "I'll Be There" by Chris Wallace

I like to put this song on in the background if I'm having trouble concentrating on my work. The singers' voice is very clear and pure and makes the song easy to listen to without distracting me more from my work. Having something like this play in the background while I'm studying or doing homework usually keeps me on track.

9. "Titanium (feat. Sia)" by David Guetta

I like to put this song on if I'm super stressed. It reminds me that I am an amazing person who can do anything and be anything. People might say things that upset me, but I'm going to keep going because I know that they are wrong.

8. "Bright" by Echosmith

This is another song that I like to put on in the background if I keep getting bored and distracted while doing my work. It's an easy listen and it makes doing my work easier.

7. "Ex's and Oh's" by Elle King

I like to put on this song when I need to get some stress and anxiety out of my body. It's fun to dance to and it helps get some stress off of your chest.

6. "Sugar, We're Goin Down" by Fall Out Boy

Even though the song isn't slow or quiet, I like to put this song on in the background while I'm doing my work. If I start to get bored with the music I have already playing, I put this one on, because the fast tempo makes the time go by faster. It's also fun to sing to.

5. "It's Time" by Imagine Dragons

I put this song on if I need an extra push to start something (like homework). Like the line in the song says, "It's time to begin". It gets me ready to start doing what I should have been doing all along.

4. "Bang Bang" by Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj

This is one of my favorite songs to put on in the morning to help get me motivated. It makes getting ready fun! You can sing each part and feel sassy which is one of the reasons why I love it. The beat wakes you up and makes you feel ready for the day.

3. "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)" by Journey

This is another one of my all-time favorite songs. It's so powerful and anyone can pretend that they're a rock star! This song is good for when you need to get some stress out and/or you just want to dance and sing and feel awesome!

2. "Whistle (While You Work It)" by Katy Tiz

This song is a great song to put on in the morning while you're getting ready for your day. It's easy to dance to, sing to, and it has a really good message: don't let people bring you down. You know what you're doing, so stop worrying about others. You got this!

1. "Cannonball" by Lea Michele

I put this song at number one because of the message that it brings: even though I keep having problems with whatever is happening in my life, I will keep going and not give up. I like to put this song on when I am super stressed and freaking out about everything. All I do is sit down and listen to it. It calms me down and I feel like some of the stress is gone.

Even though these are just my opinions, I hope I gave you some new songs to help you when you need that extra push and need to take a break and relax.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
