Music—it’s like the greatest elixir in the world that can go with just about any situation, and it is so easily accessible. More often than not, I just put on some music in the background as I am cleaning, doing homework or as I sit here writing this article. My taste in music ranges from 90s pop to country to hip hop and you never know what is going to pop up next on my iPod. I’m sure that I am not the only person on the planet that uses music to combat or enhance the moods that I am feeling. That being said, it is much better when you are just listening to the radio and a song that perfectly describes your mood, or current situation, comes on. You just have to jam to it or cry if it’s an emotional kind of feeling. Recently I’ve been overwhelmed with the need to listen to songs that make me feel like a strong and powerful woman, no matter the situation. It isn’t even in relation to the male population, but to all circumstances that may show up in my life to cause me difficulties. So without further ado, here are some of the best lyrics that I find make me feel like I can handle any situation that may come along. Feel free to look up the whole songs to get the full empowering experience.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
