15 Signs That You're A Coffee Addict
Time Out

If you're anything like me, then you probably think that coffee is your fuel source, and without it, you would go completely insane. In addition to its necessary dose of caffeine, there are also a lot of great things about coffee. It tastes good, it's aesthetically pleasing, and it even has some significant health benefits. The vast majority of the college student population usually has that need for a caffeine fix in some shape or form. But then there are those who have that scary dependency on coffee that occurs on a daily basis. If this is you, you will probably agree with a lot of the things that are on this list.

1. You started drinking coffee at a very young age.

My parents tried to keep me away from coffee as a child, but that didn't stop me from asking for small sips now and then. Eventually, they started giving me coffee in very small amounts. But it wasn't until high school that I finally got to join my parents in that morning coffee ritual. Now, I drink it everyday.

2. You actually drink it for the taste, rather than the caffeine.

Drinking that first warm cup immediately perks you up. Whether you like it black, sweetened with cream and sugar, or just a plain latte, coffee has such a bold and enriching flavor that it basically feels like a hug in a cup.

3. Just the smell of coffee is enough to get you going.

Coffee also has quite an intoxicating aroma.

4. You can open up a museum with all of the coffee mugs that you hoard in your house.

With so many different styles and designs of coffee cups, you can't have just one.

5. All of your friends are fully aware of your dependency on coffee.

Your circle of friends have probably seen you at your worst on those dreadful days where you decide to skip coffee.

6. You've been to almost all of the coffee shops in your town.

There are so many coffee shops to choose from that have their own unique look and specialty coffee drinks. But you probably have that one coffee place that is your definite go to.

7. Starbucks is actually your least favorite coffee shop.

Not to put Starbucks down or anything, but in the Reno area, there are so many different businesses that it's better to go to the local coffee shops in order to support the community. I mean don't get me wrong, I still need to have some Starbucks every now and then, but it's important to help out those small businesses too.

8. You can literally drink coffee at any time of the day.

In the morning. In the middle of the day. At night time. It doesn't matter because coffee is life.

9. You automatically want another cup after you've already had like two cups.

Yeah, what Thor said.

10. You can't go a day without drinking it.

Usually you try to skip coffee if there is literally no time in the morning to drink it. Or maybe you're just broke. And when those unfortunate days happen, you wish you had never gotten out of bed that day.

11. You despise anyone who says they don't like coffee.

I mean, I like tea as much as the next person, but coffee will always be first in my heart.

12. You would rather die than skip your morning cup of coffee.

That morning cup of coffee is what really gets you going to start your day off right. You actually become a more pleasant and functional human being.

13. Drinking coffee at night has no effect on the way you sleep.

If you can drink coffee at midnight, and still fall asleep without hesitation, then that probably means that your body has adjusted to the amount of caffeine intake that you consume on a daily basis.

14. You think that coffee in general makes life worth living.

When a majority of your friends love coffee and you are able to share that mutual love, it's guaranteed that you're going to have a good time.

15. You are probably drinking coffee while reading this.

If not, do yourself a favor and make or buy some coffee.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
