14 Signs Your Boyfriend Is Your Best Friend

If your boyfriend becomes your best friend, you are one of the luckiest people ever. It's a great thing when you can find that friendship in the person you love. Maybe you started out as friends and then it turned into more, or maybe they became your best friend while your relationship developed. Either way, you now have something amazing that not everyone has. Here are just a few of the signs that your boyfriend is your best friend as well.

1. Those "awkward silences" aren't actually awkward with you two. It's just a comfortable silence. You can sit together not saying a word and it can feel perfectly normal and comfortable.

2. Nothing becomes TMI. You start hearing about every bodily function he has and just get used to it, it has gotten to a point where it doesn't even phase you.

3. He understands your weird food habits. Whether it's the fact that you can't stand when your food touches other food on your plate or that you can't start your day without a cup of coffee, he doesn't judge you, at least not out loud.

4. You aren't embarrassed to sing terribly around him, sometimes he will even join in.

5. You know exactly what makes each other mad or annoyed, and sometimes you do it anyway because their reaction is really funny.

6. You send each other really ugly selfies on Snapchat. No need to try and look cute and obsess over taking the perfect picture, triple chins are perfectly fine.

7. It is physically impossible for you two to be serious when you're together. It takes you guys forever to finish the simple of tasks because you're always messing around.

8. You motivate each other to be the best version of yourselves. You are always motivating each other to do the best you can with everything you do. You always want to see each other succeed.

9. He's the first person you tell when you get great news. When you finally got that promotion, or you got an A on that test in the class you've been struggling in, he's the first person you text or call. He'll also participate in your happy dances when these awesome things happen.

10. You two can talk for hours on end and not get bored. You guys never run out of things to talk about.

11. You start fighting less about big things and more like who ate the last slice of pizza.

12. You both hate the same people. He probably doesn't even know that girl that you work with that you can't stand but he hates her too.

13. You know how to cheer each other up, and it usually involves a lot of teasing or making yourself look stupid.

14. You finish each others... sentences? Sandwiches?

Being in a relationship with your best friend is one of the best things ever, and you wouldn't change it for the world.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
