Growing up in a small town in Iowa definitely has its perks, but then it hands you some things you're not quite sure you can deal with much longer
1. Where traffic jams consists of being stuck behind farm equipment.
This happens at least once a week, and there's really nothing you can do about it.
2. Experiencing two seasons: winter and road construction.
I feel like 99.9 percent of this state is always under some sort of construction.
3. Driving around for "fun" because you're bored but don't want to go to the mall or movies for the thrd time this week.
I mean going to Walmart is always an option too?
4. Considering a concert to be close if it's four hours or less away.
I mean, at least Drake and Future came to Des Moines this year.
5. "Where's Iowa?"
.. or they think you're from the Potato State.
6. Where you can see snow, rain, clouds, and sunshine all in 10 minutes.
This is basically an everyday occurrence.
7. Knowing if the high school party was going to get busted, you would have plenty of corn fields to run through.
Then you're feeling like an Olympic runner after.
8. Biggest game of the year is when Iowa and ISU play.
Sorry Iowa State fans but go Hawks!
9. When you have to go out of state to watch a professional game.
So the Cubs are going to the World Series for the first time since 1945. What a time to be alive!!
10. Casey's has some of the best pizza you've ever had.
Casey's honestly ranks up there with the best.
11. When every other thing in a parade is a tractor.
..or there might be a parade just for tractors.
12. When asked where you're from you name the biggest city you live by because you just know no one has ever heard of it.
When you live in a town of 200 people.. not many people have probably heard of it.
13. You can either choose to watch the sunset outside, or know if you check Snapchat in an hour you'll see 50+ stories of it
Nothing beats an Iowa sunset.
14. State wrestling should be its own holiday.
Iowa state wrestling is a huge deal when it rolls around.
15. Corn.
It's a masterpiece.
