15 Signs You Are Over this Semester

"I literally can not anymore."

15 Signs You Are Over this Semester
Linnea Gottlander - my own

With Thanksgiving around the corner and the colder weather approaching, it is getting to the point where we are ready to never leave our beds. Work feels harder and harder to complete and the motivation is decreasing by the minute. If you know any of these signs well, I feel you.

1. Your bank account is running low and reaching the negatives.

Calling your parents and asking them for more money has become a weekly habit.

2. You yawn about 5 times just on your way to class.

Probably also considering going back to bed and wondering why you left your room in the first place.

3. Your naps are getting more frequent and much longer.

I think she means "At least** two naps."

4. Every single professor has decided to give you group projects.

Group projects are the bane of my existence at this point.

5. Netflix is now your life.

Netflix has probably made you answer that "Are you still watching?" about 3 times in a row, you'd think it would just stop.

6. Not even coffee can help you at this point.

What has more caffeine than black coffee? Black coffee with Red Bull?

7. Your motivation has reached a new low.

Am I allowed to stay in bed all day? Can I study in bed?

8. Yet, you have so much to do but spend time doing absolutely nothing.

You somehow managed to get on your sister's, best friend's, boyfriend's, uncle's, mother's Facebook and don't even know how you got there.

9. You tell yourself that going out in leggings and a sports bra is totally socially acceptable.

I mean, you can't miss Margarita Monday, Tequila Tuesday, Wine Wednesday and Thirsty Thursday... but comfort is still key.

10. You solely rely on microwaveable food.

Leftover food or mac and cheese for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

11. You begin rewarding yourself for going to class.

By getting back to relaxing where you belong, after all, you made it there even though the attendance in all your classes has at least halved in size.

12. "Just five more minutes" turns into 2 hours later.

You've also added about five extra alarms two minutes apart in order to get up on time.

13. You find yourself doing all sorts of weird things to procrastinate.

Let's try all Snapchat filters and send it to everyone multiple times.

14. You can't even remember the last time you did laundry.

*Orders new underwear and socks in order to never run out*

15. The thought of Christmas and winter break coming up is the only thing keeping you going.

Just have to get through finals first, but no time to worry about those right now.

Soon we'll be in our real homes with Mom and Dad to tend to every need, but until then, we'll just have to stick it out these next few weeks. Only 25 days until Winter Break (and 33 days until Christmas)!

an image of taylor swift standing center stage surrounded by her backup dancers in elegant peacock esque outfits with a backdrop of clouds and a box rising above the stage the image captures the vibrant aesthetics and energy of her performance during the lover era of her eras tour

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
