As a middle child, I definitely grew up with middle child syndrome. Between the tantrums, the rebelliousness, and the need for attention, I fit the stereotype of middle child to a T. Here are some signs that you are definitely also a middle child suffering from middle child syndrome:

1. You are fiercely independent.

2. You want all of the attention.

3. But, you also don't want any of the attention once you have it. It's a struggle.

4. All of your clothes growing up were hand-me-downs.

5. You're known as X's younger sibling or X's older sibling.

6. You're an extremely savvy negotiator.

7. You exaggerate all of the time.

8. You're siblings' best friends were also your friends.

9. If you're siblings did one activity or sport, you would never do it. You like to do your own thing.

10. You're the "weird" one in the family.

11. You know how to fly under the radar and get away with things.

12. When you are passionate about something, you are extremely dedicated and hardworking.

13. You have a tough skin and you aren't sensitive.

14. You are an insane fighter because you had to fend off both your older and younger sibling at the same time.

15. You can immediately tell when someone else is a middle child.
