15 Signs You Grew Up in Long Beach, Calif.

While driving along the California coast, you will come upon a city unlike any other. It has a beach town feel, bustling downtown city center, pyramid, thriving LGBT community, and many culturally diverse communities. This unique city is Long Beach, and for a lucky 470,000, it is home. Growing up in anywhere is an experience, but true Long Beach citizens can relate to the following:

1. Whenever you tell someone you’re from Long Beach, they automatically think of Snoop Dogg.

"Straight up out that Long Beach to Strong Beach"- Snoop Dogg

2. You live for Stroll & Savor in the summers.

A $10 book of tickets can buy a giant cinnamon roll, a plate of taquitos, pad thai, sushi and more. Who knew happiness was so cheap?

3. Nothing compares to Super Mex chips and salsa.

It's likely you'll be full before your meal comes out.

4. Your middle school dates were at the Long Beach Town Center.

Game changer: the arm rests in the theaters go up.

5. Your elementary and high school rivalries carried on after graduation.

You definitely remember who knocked you over during the 7th-grade basketball game.

6. Naples is your jumping playground in the summer.

Standing on the sharp railings definitely made you jump quicker.

7. You eat at Fantastic Cafe more than you would like to admit.

8. A bay day is always a good idea.

Whether it's packed on the 4th of July or a relaxed Saturday, the bay is always a good place to relax.

9. It’s likely that you had a high school formal at the Queen Mary.

10. You probably had multiple field trips to the Aquarium.

Getting a seat at the seal feeding was impossible because of all the tourists.

11. You either did Junior Lifeguards or went to 49er camp.

Jumping off the pier was no joke for the end of summer test.

12. You most likely own a Joe Jost’s shirt.

13. Schooner or Later is a must for brunch.

A "mess" never tasted so good.

14. There's no better place than Simone's for doughnuts.

Amateurs go in the morning, professionals go in the middle of the night for hot doughnuts.

15. Strolling through Naples during Christmas time is magical.

The floating trees, decorated houses, and caroling locals definitely get you in the Christmas spirit.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
