I love living and being from Ohio but lets be honest, Ohio has its flaws. Like most Midwestern states, Ohio can be really boring and frustrating. From our bipolar weather, to our love for all things football. Ohio is one of the those states that you really have no intentions of going to. But for us Ohioans, we get the pleasure of calling the great state home. Here are some of the clear signs to tell if you were born and raised in the state that everyone likes to hate.

1. Your plans for the weekend include going to Walmart and aimlessly driving around with your BFF's listening to music.

If you didn't, what did you actually do?

2. You have a cornfield at least five minutes away from your house

If you were lucky, they were in your back yard

3. Every summer picnic you went to has Cornhole

Who knew throwing bean bags could be so much fun?

4. You have a love for all things buckeyes

Whether it's for the tree, the nut, or the peanut butter stuffed candy

5. O-H

Every true Ohioan knows that if someone yells O-H, you have to scream back I-O!

6. Pot holes are your mortal enemy

R.I.P. brand new car....

7.You give directions by how far a major city is from the place you are going

Cleveland is only like 20 minutes from here.

8. You have a love/hate for Lebron James

You either love him or hate him. There is no in between.

9. You have been to Cedar Point or King's Island at least once in your life

It's your home away from home.

10. To you Cedar Point is the equivalent to Disneyland

Ride on, ride warriors!!

11. You still love the Browns even though they are the biggest disappointment

#themistakeonthelake #clevelandclowns

12. You can't call yourself a true Ohioan if you like both the Browns and the Bengals

You can't like both. It's like common knowledge.

13. To you, Urban Meyer is the greatest man alive

The man, the myth, the legend.

14. You get extremely excited when a celebrity or major film announces they are coming or filming in or around your city

It is a truly rare occurrence.

And lastly......

15. You complain about how much you hate Ohio even though you actually love it

Because Ohio is really the Heart of it All.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
