15 Thank You Notes To Those Who Deserve It
myself

I am so thankful for every single person I have encountered in my life.

But in 2016, there are a select few that have made an immeasurable difference in my life. This is a thank you to those life-changing people.

1. To my Mama and Papa...

Just like this picture; you both have always led the way for my future. Thank you for being my biggest supporters and always encouraging me. Thank you for helping me with my homework and for loving me throughout my eighteen years.

Your hard-work and compassion are inspirational. I appreciate you both for everything you have sacrificed and done for this family. I could never thank you enough for a great childhood.

2. To my little sister...

Thanks for always being there to take part in my crazy ideas (i.e. building this snowman and celebrating 'Holi' at the same time) and for always making the ride home from school bearable.

Thank you for embracing me with your enthusiasm and for always being the first one to keep me updated on our puppy's life.

3. To my dog, Google...

Thank you Google. You are the best dog and the best friend a girl could ever hope for. I am so grateful to have you in my life. There are just too many things I love about you and too many things to thank you for. Thank you for being your perfect, protective, crazy self.

4. To the rest of my family...

Whether you're in India or Illinois, I know I always have family who would do anything for each other.

I would not trade my grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, second cousins, etc. for anything in the world. Thank you to my family for endless support and love.

5. To my "Memphis Family"...

Thank you to Mohua Aunty, Anupam Uncle, Monica Aunty, Shankar Uncle, Uma Aunty, Kishore Uncle, Ruhi, Ean and Rik. Thank you for always supporting me through school, and college. It is good to know that my parents have family that they can rely on and have fun with, in the United States. Thank you for always being there to celebrate birthdays, graduations and everything in between.

6. To my crazy, silly and totally amazing best friend that lives hundreds of miles away...

Ankita, It has almost been 2 years since I have seen you in the flesh. Thank you for always being there for me and for openly embracing your individuality.

Never have I met someone as ambitious, passionate and authentic as you. You are such a strong individual. Thank you for sharing the past 16 years with me and thank you for the crazy memories.

7. To the friend that I will never stop loving...

Savannah, I am so glad we are friends, because you have brought so much happiness into my life. Thank you for everything. Thank you for being so supportive and for constantly putting others in front of yourself.

You mean the world to me and there is nothing you could say or do that would make me care any less for you. Thank you for always wanting to help others, whether it be in math or in life. You are one of the strongest people I have ever met. I love spending time with you.

8. To all my friends that are too cool for words...

Carol and Emely, thank you for being my people. Carol: thank you for being blunt and honest all the time. Your comments make my day. Thank you for being yourself. Emely: thank you for being a crazy mom, with some of the best stories.

You are so fun to be around. Thank you both for being trustworthy, hard-working and curious. Conversations with you guys are amazing, because they always lead to fun arguments or laughter.

9. To my super enthusiastic friends...

Thanks to Bender, Aynsley and Faith for everything. I could not have done high school without you all. You guys were always the first people I went to whenever there was a problem or I needed help to plan something. You are all so perfect, reliable and enthusiastic.

Thank you for always being so optimistic and free-spirited. A smile was always guaranteed after hanging out with you. Thank you for the fun times, whether it be at prom, that 5$ store or at a house.

10. To my hipster friend that knows everyone...

Rachel, thank you for all of the memories. Thank you for being so compassionate and genuine. You are one of the least judgmental people I know. I am so glad that we became friends because you have brought me so much happiness. Your ability to make friends with everyone and stand up for what you believe in is inspiring. Thank you for showing me what a good friend looks like.

11. To my high school theater pals...

This isn't even close to everyone, but to anyone I met through theater, thank you all so much.

You were the reason I came to school most days. Thank you for always bringing a smile to my face and for creating beautiful shows. Never stop radiating the stage. I hope the GroupMe conversation never end; even when we are 30 years old, I hope freshmen are still being added, because even from DC, it still brightens my day.

12. To my teachers and college advisors...

Mr. Jenkins, DKB, Ms. Brown, Dr. Bailey, Ms.O'Neil, Dr.New and many more- thank you for your patience and for supporting me throughout the last semester of senior year. Thank you for making learning fun and exciting every day.

Thank you for making class enjoyable. After having college professors for a few months, I have come to the conclusion that I was so lucky to have teachers who truly cared and would do anything to help their students. Thank you all so much. Furthermore, thank you to my college advisors for continuously putting in your best effort to help me accomplish my goals. I appreciate it so much.

13. To the college friend I couldn't imagine life without...

Annie, I already wrote you a note about all of the reasons I appreciate you. However, it seems I forgot to "thank you" for one important thing.

Thanks for introducing me to “The 100” and to the beautiful world of Bellamy, Clarke and The Grounders. So thank you for showing me what my life has been missing out on. Thank you for bringing me happiness. Thank you for everything.

14. To my "Generic" theater friends...

I am so thankful that I got to meet so many amazing people through Generic. Being able to be in :Freshcase created many of the greatest memories of the first semester. First of all, thank you to VickyG for casting me in her one act. Thank you for being an amazing mom and helping me learn how to survive college. You are a fantastic inspiration and I am so thankful that I got to know you.

Additionally, thank you for not being mad that time I overslept during tech week. Thank you for still talking to me. Furthermore, thank you to anyone who brought me food (thank you Olivia), walked me home (basically everyone) or just spread happiness. Thank you all for being so genuine and enthusiastic. I had so much fun.

Thank you to the entire cast in "You Don't Have to Feed a Cello" for embracing your beauty and sharing so much love. You guys were the reason for so many happy memories. Thank you to everyone for making the first few weeks of college exceptional.

15. To my roommate, suitemates, and floormates...

Thank you to Galen, Alicia, Eliana, Lane, Wyatt, Maria and Connor. I am so thankful for you all.Although we do not talk often, I know that you are always looking out for me. A big special thank you to my suite-mate Galen for lending me 4 quarters and for occasionally checking up on me.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
