For nine seasons, the cast of "One Tree Hill" took us through an emotional journey. Some episodes left me in tears while others provided many laughs. In just a few episodes, I fell in love with the storyline and found myself binge watching several episodes at a time. In 187 episodes, we take away several life lessons. Some of these lessons left behind relatable quotes that apply to our everyday life.

2. "Love is a wonderful thing, And it doesn’t knock much, so when it does, make sure to open the door." - Brooke Davis

4. "At this moment there are 6,470,818, 671 people in this world. Some are running scared. Some are coming home. Some tell lies to make it through the day. Others are just now facing the truth. Some are evil men, at war with good. And some are good, struggling with evil. Six billion people in the world. Six billion souls. And sometimes — all you need is one." - Peyton Sawyer

5. "There’s no shame in being afraid. Hell, we’re all afraid. What you gotta do is figure out what you’re afraid of because when you put a face on it, you can beat it. Better yet, you can use it." - Coach Whitey Durham

6. "People are going to label you. It’s how you overcome those labels. That’s what matters." – Brooke Davis

7. "People want to hear songs with the words they’re afraid to say." - Peyton Sawyer

8. "If you’re lucky … if you’re the luckiest person on this entire planet, the person you love decides to love you back." - Nathan Scott

9. "Because sometimes you have to step outside the person you’ve been and remember the person you were meant to be, the person you wanted to be, the person you are." - Mouth McFadden

10. "I think eventually we learn to define happiness for ourselves on our own terms, in spite of the pain other people have caused us." - Haley Scott

11. "So make your wish. Do you have it? Good. Now believe in it, with all of your heart." – "One Tree Hill"

12. "Change is a whisper. It’s a season. It’s slow and quiet and it’s not very dramatic. But it’s up to you." - Brooke Davis

13. "It's hard when you miss people. But you know, if you miss them, it means you were lucky. It means you had someone special in your life, someone worth missing." - Nathan Scott

14. "And when you find yourself lost in the darkness and despair ... remember it's only in the black of night you can see the stars, and those stars will lead you back home." - Coach Whitey Durham

15. “It’s the oldest story in the world. One day you’re seventeen and planning for someday. And then quietly and without you ever really noticing, someday is today. And that someday is yesterday. And this is your life.” - Nathan Scott

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

Sometimes my brain just starts turning on an idea and it doesn't want to stop.

I don't know if it is related to my anxiety, perfectionism or depression. I don't know why it happens. It's frustrating, it's painful and it stops me from functioning.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.
