Law and Order SVU is probably one of the oldest shows on television, not to mention the longest running of the "Law and Order" series. With the intensity of the show, and all the plot twists, and not to mention the incredible cast, Law and Order SVU is where it's truly at. I've decided to make a list of the following reasons you might just be addicted to SVU.

1. You know the opening monologue like the back of your hand

"In the criminal justice system, sexually-based offenses are considered especially heinous. In New York City, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the special victims unit. These are their stories."

2. You want to be Olivia Benson

Olivia Benson is the definition of a fierce, strong, independent woman. She is an incredible example to women everywhere, and we've all secretly wished we were either her best friend, or we were Olivia Benson. She's all around amazing.

3. Your heart broke over Stabler leaving

People take "breaks" from the show, for example Mariska Hargitay left on maternity leave, which ultimately meant Olivia left for an "undercover opt" and Elliot got a new partner. Well rumors started coming up after the insanity that was the season 12 finale, that Chris Meloni was exiting. When it was confirmed by the writers, it was the most heartbreaking thing ever.

4. Olivia, Melinda, and Casey will always be a badass trio

They were just badass. I mean seriously look at them.

5. We all secretly hoped Elliot and Olivia would get together

They are the most badass duo ever. And they have undeniable chemistry. They are each others back bone, best friend, and biggest supporter. They know each other inside and out, they're practically married, but Elliot has a wife and Olivia is single, and now I'm going to go cry in a corner because I'm sad that it'll never happen.

6. We all have our favorite ADA

Whether it's Alex, Casey, or Barba, we all have our favorite ADA and lets face it they're pretty freaking badass and will go above and beyond for the victims in their cases.

7. You cancel plans when USA airs a marathon

When USA would air day long marathons (sometimes a weekend long one), you don't move from the couch or bed. Because where else would you go other than to watch your favorite detectives kick ass?

***Also Taylor Swift understands our love for SVU. She truly is a fan. Her cat's name is Olivia Benson, and Mariska Hargitay and her are pretty much BFFS, AND Mariska starred in Taylor's "Bad Blood" music video. Freakin badass man.

8. You know the Miranda Rights

You pretty much could be a cop. You know the law from watching this show.

9. When Netflix decided to take half the season off

It honestly made me cry... Like one minute seasons 1-12 were on Netflix, and then they weren't. It honestly saddens me. However I now have hulu and I can tolerate the commercials, just to have SVU seasons 1-current.

10. Olivia's reaction to Elliot leaving, left you sobbing

At the very end of the first episode in season 13, Olivia finally breaks down in tears. Cragen told her he was putting his papers in and she broke. I sobbed seeing Olivia Benson (who rarely cries) break down over Elliot.

11. Elizabeth Donnelly is such a great judge

The judges on SVU are honestly fantastic, but, Elizabeth Donnelly (portrayed by Judith Light) is the best in my opinion. She's such a badass judge. She doesn't take shit from anyone, and she protects her ADA's and even the cops if necessary. One character I wish they'd bring back.

12. Munch retiring made us all tear up a bit

The last episode Sergeant John Munch was in, was so sweet and kind, but also so sad. I miss his sense of humor and the ridiculous conspiracy theories he had on life. MISS HIM SO MUCH.

13. Then Cragen leaving....

That was something I did not see coming....

14. You can tell which season it is by Olivia's haircut

Her hair makes it easy to remember which season we're on.

15. As much as you may like the new people, you'll always miss the original cast

RIP. :(

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
