1. All the food.
You can eat as much as you want and not have to worry about people judging you. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and corn, followed by a plethora of pies! Eat your heart out!
2. A break from work.
You work hard all week and after all of your hard work, you deserve a break! During Thanksgiving, the only thing I have on my agenda is take a nap.
3. Spending time with the fam.
Of course this can be a good or bad thing. You'll get questions about your life that you don't have answers for, but remember they just ask because the care. In the end, they still love you and you still love them.
4. Watching FOOTBALL!!!
Let's face it, after Thanksgiving meal is over, it's all about the football. Even if you're not a huge football fan, it's a great time to get all of your anger out and scream at the television for no apparent reason.
5. Relatives have dogs.
My grandma has a really cute dog! For your sake, I really hope your family does too. Dogs are nice buffers for when you need a break from the adult conversations, you can just go chill with them!
6. No need to worry about being politically correct.
Everyone celebrates Thanksgiving, so you can just say "Happy Thanksgiving" without worrying about offending anyone. This year, you may have to worry about offending for other reasons *cough, cough*the election*cough*, but that's a separate issue.
7. Day drinking.
I believe the rule is when the oven turns on, drinks are allowed to be served. Right?
8. All the deal$$$.
The night of Thanksgiving is when the black Friday deals set in. It may be a zoo the night of, but the deals stick around for a while, giving you plenty of times to buy Holiday gifts for everyone.
9. Leftovers for dayz.
After trying to eat piles of food and hardly making a dent in the food sitting on the table, there is enough food to eat for the next month! No need to grocery shop for a while.
10. Playing football.
It's that time of the year when the leaves are falling and the temperature is cold but not freezing yet, this is perfect football weather. Football is also a great way to get exercise and spend quality time with friends and family.
11. You don't have to buy presents for anyone.
In general, Thanksgiving is less commercialized compare to holiday like Christmas and Valentine's day, therefore, you don't need to spend a large amount of money. Maybe just a couple dollars to contribute the cranberry sauce to dinner.
12. No dress code.
For some holidays, it is require to dress up for family parties, or church, but not for Thanksgiving! Sweatpants are 100% acceptable and sometimes even encouraged to make sure you have enough stretch room for your food baby!
13. Being thankful for what you have.
As we go through everyday life, we usually don't recognize how lucky we are to have what we do. Thanksgiving is a day to reflect on what you have and be grateful for all of the wonderful people and items you have.
14. People are in a good mood.
For the most part, people are happy because they realize that Thanksgiving is the bomb! Not to mention, being thankful and realizing how lucky we are to have everything, give people a more positive outlook on life.
