15 Reasons Why I Love Giraffes

Everyone has their favorite animals, and some people just have a strange obsession. I am one of those strange obsession kids. For as long as I can remember, I have always loved giraffes. Thanks to my mom and boyfriend who feed into my obsession, it continues to grow. They make funny faces and are just so amazing. Here are the reasons why you should love giraffes as much as I do.

1) They make the best faces. If you ever have a chance, go google giraffe faces they are truly hilarious.

2) The little horns on their heads … well THEY AREN'T EVEN HORNS! They help the giraffe regulate the temperature and if that isn’t cool, I don’t know what is!

3) Have you ever seen a baby giraffe … like come on … they are the cutest things ever! I could just cuddle them all day long!

4) Their spots, even though they look the same from a distance are not! Every giraffe’s spots are different and unique!

.

5) Their long necks are not just for show … they are actually use them to fight with one another!

6) Have you ever seen a giraffe kick? Well it’s true! They do kick and guess what, their kick is so powerful it can cause some serious damage!

7) They have long tongues! So long they can actually pick their nose! I mean come on I know a lot of you out there have tried to pick their noses with your tongue DO NOT LIE!

8) They are actually really clumsy and are just awkward creatures! HAHA! Just like me!

9) Giraffes drink water in a strange way, which actually makes them great prey so they have adapted to be able to survive without drinking water for a couple days by using water contained in leaves!

10) Giraffes are like most college kids! They only sleep for 10 minutes to two hours a day! They do not require much sleeping time!

11) Giraffes move in two speeds: fast and scary fast. They may look like they move slowly, but they really do not!

12) You know those Valentine’s Day cards you get where the giraffes necks are rubbing? WELL THOSE ARE A LIE! It is called necking and it’s actually to males testing who is stronger.

13) Female giraffes like to go back to where they were born to give birth!

14) For those that did not know giraffes had a scientific name, well they do! Giraffa Camelopardalis, is the scientific name of giraffes and this is a Greek meaning “Camel wearing a leopard coating”.

15) My most favorite things about giraffe, is that they have a big heart like me. Literally they have a huge heart. It is two feet and weigh 25lbs!

Giraffes will always be my favorite animal. They are so majestic and if you ever get the chance to meet them in person I highly suggest doing it! i remember my first time and it was they best experience of my life and I get to thank my amazing boyfriend for that experience!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
