15 Reasons Why It Is Completely Healthy To Envy Kate Hudson

It goes without saying that at some point in our lives we envy someone whether it be a coworker, a friend, or Cindy in your Tuesday morning yoga class. Whoever it may be and whatever it may be that you are envying, I am here to tell you it is OK, it is in fact healthy to have a smidgen of jealously towards someone or something. In fact, it is especially healthy to envy a celebrity, especially Kate Hudson because her life is the definition of goals. Here is a couple of reasons why it is totally OK, totally healthy, and totally understandable why we are jealous of Kate Hudson:

1. She has mastered the beach wave.

I mean look at her, she looks like she just walked off of the beach and stumbled onto the red carpet.

2. She has costarred with Matthew McConaughey, kissed Matthew McConaughey and just been close to Matthew McConaughey.

Need I say more? Don’t think so.

3. She has her own workout line.

Three words: Endless. Yoga. Pants.

4. She has been connected to this guy.

5. And this guy.

6. Oh and we will never forget this guy.

7. Her mom is Goldie Hawn.

Like THE Goldie Hawn.

8. Her social media game is strong.

Like so strong for someone who is 37 and has two kids.

9. She looks like this after two kids.

I want to look like this after two kids.

10. Her style is like Free People, Kate Spade, and every other popular designer mixed.

I want to raid her closet, or hire her stylist, or both.

11. When she cuts her hair it makes headlines.

I can’t even get my boyfriend to notice when I get highlights. Teach me your way K-Hud, please.

12. She has been named ’50 Most Beautiful People in World.’

My mom says I’m pretty, so same thing, right?

13 She is the queen of rom coms.

14. She danced to “Push It” with Ginnifer Goodwin in their film 'Something Borrowed,' and rocked it.

When my friends and I do it we receive strange looks and get asked if we need cabs called for us, no kind thank you kind bartender, can’t you see we are just trying to reach our friendship goals that is Ginnifer and Kate?

15. In every movie she is in she always gets the guy.

I wish I had her luck.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week.
