Having a rough week? Losing faith in humanity recently? Well, good news! We still have dogs. Here are some reasons why dogs are the best.

1. They show you the real definition of unconditional love

Dogs are the only things on this earth that will love you more than they love themselves.

2. Every time you walk through the door, they act like they haven't seen you in years

Whether you are coming home from a weekend vacation, coming home from work or coming back inside after taking the trash to the curb, dogs greet you every time you walk through your door like they haven't seen you in years. It's the best feeling knowing that something is so excited to see you.

3. They'll go on a run with you (without complaining the whole time)

As soon as you break out that leash, you know the chaos that is about to unveil. But, you know that your run is going to be a little more productive without having to hear your work out buddy wheezing and complaining the whole time.

4. They don't talk back

When they pee on something or do something wrong and you tell them "NO" and then continue to lecture them about what they did, they never talk back. They simply hang their head and hide for a couple minutes and then find you and lick your skin off your body to show they're sorry.

5. They're the best to snuggle with

They love sleep just as much as you do (sometimes) and they know that when you're curled up, they're getting in on the snuggles. They keep you warm and they don't sweat or snore.

6. They protect you

They will bark at anything. Literally anything...Squirrels, mailmen, wind, EVERYTHING. So, when their ears go all cockeyed and their hair stands up think of a plan because you know if someone comes in, they're going to get licked to death. Hey, at least they tried to warn you.

7. You can dress them up

You can dress them up in little boots and rain jackets or little costumes and bows. They look so cute! And you can't help but crack up when they run in a funny costume.

8. They take awesome "selfies"

Look!

9. They have a great short term memory

When you step on their paw or you accidentally hit them with whatever you were throwing for them to fetch or catch, they won't remember. You will and you will probably hate yourself for the rest of your life thinking you hurt your doggy, but they won't remember in a couple minutes.

10. And thankfully they have a great long term memory

Even though their short term memory totally sucks, they have a good long term one. This means that they will forget you stepping on them, but they will never forget the love they have for you and the connection you share.

11. They know how to comfort you

Fun fact, dogs can actually mimic your emotions. Sad? They will cry with you. Happy? They will celebrate with you. Dogs know what to do and when to do it.

12. They always want to hold your hand

Paw?

13. And kiss you

14. There is never a dull moment

Whether they do something totally bad or something totally cute, there is never a dull moment with your pup.

15. They're the cutest things ever!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
