Winter is coming. . . and while that means shoveling heaps of snow and freezing in sub-zero temperatures, there are some finer things of the season we can all appreciate. Let's face it, in what other season is it socially acceptable to watch the same movie on replay for a month?
1. Dogs in Sweaters
By far, the cutest thing you'll ever see this winter.
2. Spontaneous Ice skating
One of the funniest things about winter is seeing people slip on the ice. Sure, it's a bit sadistic but watching folks pull what could be the sickest dance moves as they try to fight gravity is almost impossible not to laugh at--even if you're the one who falls.
3. Hot Chocolate
Nothing better or more versatile than a nice cup o' liquid chocolate.
4. Pretty much any warm beverage
Apple Cider. Steamers. Hot Cocoa. Latte. Tea. Coffee. I could go on forever, baby.
5. Oversized Sweaters
That feeling of pulling the sleeves of a sweater over your hand.
6. Winter Wonderland
Like a Christmas card coming to life.
7. Christmas Lights
There's a reason the British call them fairy lights.
8. Ugly Sweater Parties
Only in winter can you throw a party where people wear their most horrendous piece of seasonal wear.
9. TV Shows And Movies
Sure, Fall is for season premieres and Summer for blockbusters. But winter is when your favorite shows and movie directors return full force.
10. Holiday Music
By some weird bout of Holiday spirit, you find yourself singing along to seasonal tunes on the radio even though you don't like the holiday that much.
11. Layering
If you're cold, you can always add another layer of wool, flannel, or knit. What can you do in the summer--peel off your skin?
12. Christmas Decorations
Pretty packets of tinsel, Christmas balls, bows, and miniature candy canes and Santas.
13. Comfort Food
Mash Potatoes, Baked Chicken, Apple Pie, Oh my!
14. Snow Days
When the weather outside is frightful, staying at home from work or school can be the most delightful--whether it be to curl up in bed with a book or to binge-watch Netflix.
Winter officially begins late December, but that holiday feeling and seasonal magic are already here.
