I think that people think that having a boyfriend means that you need to be spoiled with gifts and flowers all the time, and he needs to only spend time with you. People are so poorly informed. A boyfriend is not about the gifts and the flowers, and how much time he spends with you. It is about what you do when you are together, how he makes you feel. Your boyfriend should make you laugh, and he should make you think about things you have never thought about before. He should challenge you to be a better person and to excel in every aspect of your life. My boyfriend does all of these things and more, and here are 15 reasons why my boyfriend is better than yours.

1. He's my best friend.

I think that this is the most important one of all. To be in a relationship you need a really good foundation. Typically, most relationships that last the longest and are stronger are from those people who started out as friends first. For me personally, I was best friends with my boyfriend for five years before we started dating. This made it so that I was so much more comfortable with him and we were able to skip all of those awkward "what do I do now" phases.

2. He supplies me with an endless amount of Buffalo Wild Wings.

All right I lied, maybe this one is more important than being my best friend. Seriously, my boyfriend is a saint when it comes to the amount of food he buys for me. Let me tell you, I am not a salad eating-lady; I can throw down 30 wings in no time.

3. He puts up with me when I am PMSing.

I go from crying to laughing to yelling in a matter of seconds sometimes, I swear. Even though I get crazy during that time of the month, my boyfriend just adapts to whatever I am feeling and always has chocolate on hand.

4. He goes to cardio dance with me.

OK, this one gives me a real good laugh. He shakes and moves just like all of the ladies in the class, and he is not ashamed of it. Afterward, he even confessed he had fun doing it! This may have just been to make me happy, but either way it was one of the best, and funniest workouts we have ever done together.

5. He sings along to any and all Disney music with me.

Our duet to "Love is an Open Door" is probably one of the best things you will ever hear. He pretends like he doesn't like the music, and he moans and groans when I turn it on while we are driving, but as soon as that first note hits, he is 100 percent consumed in all things Disney.

6. He fulfills my sense of adventure.

My boyfriend is definitely not a bore. We don't sit around on the couch watching TV every weekend. We like to walk around town and point out things we have never noticed before. We like to go hiking and kayaking and everything in between. We sit at the table with our books of places in the world, and we talk for hours about all of the countries we will go to, and all the things we will do.

7. He keeps me guessing.

I never know where our relationship is going to go next, or what date he has hidden in his back pocket. He randomly buys tickets to see my favorite band in concert. He plans little day getaways and always makes sure I have a smile on my face the entire time.

8. He’s a real looker.

Hubba hubba.

9. He makes me laugh.

From his stupidly hilarious science jokes to his funny sense of humor, there is never a dull moment. If we aren't laughing we are crying from laughing so hard.

10. He pushes me to achieve great things.

When my boyfriend reads an article about something he thinks I would be good at, or sees something that might intrigue me, he tells me I should do it immediately. He always helps me to find things that would be good for my career and life to help me go down the path that is best for me.

11. He believes in me more than I believe in myself.

This is a huge one! If you are dating someone who believes in you the same amount that you believe in yourself, then you are not dating the right person. Your significant other needs to push you harder than you push yourself. He needs to be able to pick you back up when you fall and make you try again and again until you succeed.

12. He endures whatever weird thing I'm obsessed with every other month.

Sloths. Webkinz. Minions. Stuffed animals. This list goes on. But, no matter what I am obsessed with at the time he is sure to make sure I have the merchandise for all of it, even though he knows it is not going to last very long.

13. He asks me how my day was.

I know that this is so simple, but it shows he cares. He wants to know what was going on while we were apart, things I learned, friends I made. It is important to talk about your lives together, more important than most people tend to realize.

14. He never lets me go to sleep mad.

Going to bed mad is probably one of the worst things ever. Not only are you ending your day on a bad note, but when you wake up the next morning you will be mad too. It is so crucial to find a common ground on an argument even if you haven't completely resolved it, so that you can go to bed happily.

15. He loves me unconditionally.

This needs no explanation, don't be with someone who doesn't love you for all that you are.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
