15 Reasons Why I Love Chick-Fil-A
Chick-fil-A

In 1921, a genius was born. His name is S. Truett Cathy, and he’s the man who founded the most delicious place on Earth: Chick-fil-A. The home of the chicken sandwich and endless “my pleasures.” I can happily say that Chick-fil-A is in my top five favorite places to go, and here’s exactly why.

1. The sauces are to die for.

But honestly I'm just here for the CFA sauce.

2. It’s always so clean!

Even the bathrooms are always beyond presentable. And if for some (odd) reason you aren’t satisfied, say something. Because I guarantee you they will fix the problem very quickly. Which leads me to:

3. Customer service is phenomenal!

Employees have no problem coming to your table to offer refills or take your trash. When I pick up big platters, they always carry it to my truck. They make sure to have a smile on their face and you always hear the chorus of “my pleasure” any time you say thank you. I’m sure that gets annoying to them, but personally, I love that they say it. It causes them to stand out even more than they already do.

4. They’re dog lovers!

Just the other week, I went through the drive-thru, and I had my dog with me. I was shocked (in a good way) when the girl asked if my dog could have a treat. They even cater to my dog. Ugh, I love it.

5. Two words: waffle fries.

I never have any issues eating them all, and I’ll even fight my family for the last one.

6. They’re closed on Sunday.

Put your pitchforks down, I have my reasons here. I’m not gonna lie, like most CFA-obsessed people, I too crave their food on Sundays. But, I can’t help but love their reasoning behind it. Being a Christian-based restaurant, they believe that Sunday is meant as a day of rest, a day to be at church and time to be with family, not spent working. I will always support a business a little bit more when they stick to their beliefs and stay closed on a Sunday. I’m a happy employee of a business that is closed on Sundays for the same reasons!

7. The cow, duh.

I can’t help but laugh at all the creative advertisements CFA has come up with. The cows' handwriting and cow grammar is one of my favorite parts about it.

8. Ice Dreams & milkshakes.

The name says it all, it’s just not your typical ice cream. It’s better.

9. They set an amazing Christian example.

The media and unhappy people have attacked them for being a Christian company, being closed on Sundays and being against gay marriage. But CFA turns the other cheek and open their hearts up to everyone. To be specific, as many heard, a few CFA’s opened their kitchen on a Sunday to make food to give out to those trying to support the victims of the Orlando shootings. So many people were shocked that a company who is for traditional marriage would help out in this crisis. I think this is what makes me the most sad about our world today, so many people view Christians as hateful people who think they’re above everyone else. Not to go all biblical on everyone reading this, but God calls on us to love everyone. God doesn’t love a straight person more than a gay person, he loves all sinners the same because he sees us as equals. CFA did just that, they didn’t see a gay community, they saw a community in need.

10. The sweet tea & lemonade are delicious.

If you're brave/smart mix them together.

11. They support police officers.

A CFA in Texas was seen sporting these shirts. No, they didn’t do it to stir up trouble, they did it because they simply support the men and women who are out on the streets everyday protecting us.

12. The organization is unreal.

I’ve never seen their condiments out of stock. They take your name and give you a colored table marker so they can bring the food out to you. Might I add no matter how busy they are, I always get my food so quickly. Workers stand outside in the drive-thru handing out menus when the line is long and taking additional orders they call into the kitchen. It’s a simple, yet brilliant, way to keep a business flowing.

13. They're incredibly supportive of service men & women.

Of course they offer free food to those who serve or have served on special nights of the year. They also have given a lot of military support in other ways seen here on their website. But recently, I saw that a CFA in Georgia (along with many others) does a “Missing Man Table,” and I most definitely cried when reading all about it. This picture says a lot but if you haven’t heard of it, check out this article.

14. The CFA Foundation is so amazing.

This foundation is a miracle in itself. “We exist to help every child become all that they were created to be.” If you haven’t heard of it, then you don’t know half of what CFA does and you really should look into it here. However to sum it up, CFA has joined local and national organizations to support the education in our youth through donations, scholarships, volunteer projects and more.

15. Yas the chicken!

Did you really think I was going to forget about the chicken? It's the best part!

Now go get some delicious Chick-fil-A! Unless it's Sunday. Then I'm terribly sorry for what I just did to your cravings.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
