You Never Will Doubt The Awesomeness of Goats Again

15 Reasons Why Goats are Awesome

1. Goats are cute

You may argue that this is just a matter of opinion, and I guess it is. But have you seen goats?! They are defiantly cuter than cows.

2. They are escape artists

They are indeed the hairy Houdinis of the livestock world. This may not be so great for the goat farmers, or the flower bed, but it’s still awesome.

3. They love climbing on things

Trees? Check. Fences? Check. Bigger goats? Check again. Goats climb everything they can get their hooves on.

4. They don’t eat tin cans

Goats don’t eat tin cans or other random garbage; they are not natural recycling bins. In fact, some goats can be very picky eaters. Only the finest alfalfa will do.

5. Goat milk

Goat milk is wonderful. When it is fresh, it really doesn’t taste that strong, and it is far more digestible than cow’s milk. Goat’s milk is better than cow’s milk for babies, and you can use it instead of special formula for almost every other animal, even pigeons!

6. Goat cheese

It’s delicious. You should try some.

7. They have great personalities

For all those stuck in the cross-fire of the dog and cat people, I present to you your animal. Goats are inquisitive and intelligent but also loyal and sweet - the great compromise.

8. They look hilarious when they are yawning

I can’t find any pictures of goats yawning, so I suggest you go find a goat and read it a book about the Dewy Decimal System or something. Just make sure that it doesn’t eat the book. Goats don’t eat anything, but paper is another story…

9. Baby goats are adorable

All baby animals are adorable, but baby goats are extra adorable.

10. They keep places fire-proof

Goats are great at eating up the undergrowth and weeds that make it easy for wildfires to spread. There are even businesses out there that rent out goats to do some of this backyard cleaning up for you.

11. They are the best mountain climbers in the world

Mountains are the goat’s natural habitat. Maybe that’s why they like climbing things so much!

12. They can eat poison ivy

Goats are immune to poison ivy, so they can eat it. Some people say that if you drink milk from a goat that eats poison ivy, you can develop an immunity to it as well. All that is assuming your goat is not a picky eater…

13. They provide comic relief

Goats are very funny animals. They flirt by sticking their tongues out and making other weird faces. They fall over sometimes. They get their heads stuck in buckets. They are just funny.

14. Goat carts

Who doesn’t want a goat cart? In ancient Rome, they used goats to pull chariots for young boys, instead of horses.

15. Goats are good therapy animals

They are loving animals who genuinely enjoy being around people. In the past, goats were used to keep race-horses company. If someone wanted to sabotage the race, they would steal the goat, leaving the horse in emotional turmoil, hence they phrase: They got your goat. See? Goats are therapy.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
