15 Reasons College Students Are Excited For Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving is the first time of the year that college students all return home. Usually, it is a nice break from school work and something that everyone looks forward to. Here are fifteen reasons why college students can't wait to take the trip back home this november.

1. Having home-cooked meals

2. Being able to play with your dog (or any pet for that matter)

3. It means it's time to reunite with your friends that you grew up with

4. Being able to stay in and out with your parents- something that I rarely did in high school

5. All of your favorite restaurants are within a short drive from your house

6. Thanksgiving dinner, duh

7. It means that Christmas is right around the corner, and that's the best time of the year

8. For me, the weather will be a little warmer back home

9. Seeing all of your aunts, uncles, and cousins

10. The night before Thanksgiving, being one of the biggest drinking nights of the year

11. Yet, still being able to detox from the same old bars we go to every weekend at school

12. Black Friday shopping

13. Watching the thanksgiving day parade in your own living room

14. Getting money from your parents and family

15. Did I mention the food?

And then when sunday rolls around, we never want to go back to school. All it means is that finals week is right around the corner. We make our way back to school and start thinking about the next 15 reasons we can't wait to go home for the holidays...

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
