15 Reasons We're Blessed Drake Was Born

If you're reading this, Drake turned 29 on Saturday. In all his 29 years, he has blessed us all with music, aesthetics, and memes. Let's take a look at some of my favorite reasons why Drake is alive.

1. Music

How could this not be number one? Everyone can name at least one Drake song, it's impossible not to. And most likely, you end up dancing like this when one of his songs comes on.

2. His sweater game

Boys in sweaters might be a weakness of mine, but how can it not be? Don't you just want those arms to wrap around you and for him to tell you, “I know they say the first love is the sweetest, but that first cut is the deepest.”

3. This picture of him holding a dog

If you're ever upset and need something to cheer you up, look at this picture. What's better than this?

4. His love for his mom

We (avid fans) all know Drake loves his mom. It's clear in his many of his songs such as "You & The 6," "Look What You've Done" and "Star67" to name a few.

5. The hot bod he's just acquired

Yeah I don't want to talk about this one anymore.

6. His role on "Degrassi"

Everybody and their mother loved Jimmy Brooks. Love you and miss you.

7. Memes

Drake has become such a meme in the Internet world and he continues to feed it. After his "Hotline Bling" video dropped, the Internet went insane. Vines such as this one among many others have popped up everywhere. Even "The New York Times"wrote an article about his meme-ness.

8. The Meek Mill feud

This summer involved quite the fight in the rap world. The whole feud was hysterical and even lead to Drake dropping two insanely great diss tracks. In case you need a refresher, here's a timeline of the whole thing.

9. Apps he's inspired a.k.a. Drizzy keyboard and Drake Shake

Two of my favorite apps are Drake related. Are we surprised? Drizzy is a keyboard that includes lyrics from his songs that you can tap and put in all your conversations. Unfortunately it's no longer in the app store but we're hoping it comes back soon. The other is Drake Shake -- pick a picture and shake Drake into it. Genius.

10. He's a pretty classy guy

Look at this -- even Future is praising his clean act.

11. Nicki Minaj

Their relationship makes me so happy and sad at the same time. Remember when he bought her all the snacks she wanted? And when she performed "SuperBass" and he just sat there and smiled? Ugh, my heart.

12. All the feelings

There are so many songs that convey Drake's feelings and we all know it. "Hotline Bling," "Jungle," "Connect" and many others will give you a sense of who Drake is.

13. His feminism

Although many girls have broke his heart, Drake still continues to treat every woman with such respect. You now see why I wanna marry Drake, right?

14. Baby Drake

There's a strong possibility this is hanging on my wall in my dorm and it's saved to my desktop. I mean, c'mon. Look at how cute he is.

15. And if there's one thing we all know for certain...

If a man (or woman) ever gets you down just remember Drake is there for you and has got your back.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.

1. You're tired of school food and have resorted to surviving off junk food and cereal.

2. Your financial aid/money is running out...and chances are it all went to textbooks and takeout.
