15 Reasons Why Beyoncé Should Play Angelica Schuyler

The incredible musical Hamilton (which I was fortunate enough to see over the summer) has done phenomenally well since it opened, and it still sells out every performance! There were people who saw the same performance we did who stood in the cancellation line for 25 hours for tickets. We bought ours eight months in advance before the scramble for tickets went completely berserk.

Hamilton is revolutionary and life-changing to see. The First Lady said, "It was simply, as I tell everybody, the best piece of art in any form that I have ever seen in my life." The composer and lyricist (and original Hamilton on Broadway), Lin-Manuel Miranda, has been compared to Shakespeare.

Even without the original principal cast still present, it is still extremely difficult to get tickets. Miranda has petitioned legislators to regulate ticket bots more so that actual audience members can get their hands on the tickets at face value prices rather than sky-high resale prices. Some of the tickets for Miranda's last performance were being resold for about $20 thousand.

However, in five years or so, Hamilton may need a little boost in sales when the cancellation line no longer wraps around the block, especially with regional performances and tours beginning. Less people will make the pilgrimage to New York to see the show. If this is ever the case, I propose that Beyoncé is brought into the cast as Angelica Schuyler. Of course, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Mandy Gonzalez are stellar performers and powerful women, but I think we would all love to see Queen Bey perform "Satisfied."

Here are 15 moments when Beyoncé showed us Angelica Schuyler:

1. "Werk!"

"Who run the world? Girls!"

2. "You want a revolution? I want a revelation! So listen to my declaration..."

"Okay ladies, now let's get in formation!"

3. "So this is what it feels like to match wits with someone at your level? What the hell is the catch?"

"I just wanna be the girl you like."

4. "And I realized three fundamental truths at the exact same time."

"My daddy warned me about men like you..."

5. "I'm just saying, if you really loved me, you would share him."

"I'm just jealous. I'm just human. Don't judge me."

6. "I will never be satisfied; he will never be satisfied."

"When you lose the one you wanted..."

7. "I am sailing off to London. I am accompanied by someone who always pays."

"Got diamonds on my neck. Got diamonds on my records."

8. "My Alexander... Don't forget to write."

"And I'm always gonna be the best thing you never had."

9. "Your favorite older sister, Angelica, reminds you, there's someone in your corner all the way across the sea."

"You know I give you life."

10. "It's good to see your face."

"Now everybody ask me why I'm smiling out from ear to ear."

11. "Screw your courage to the sticking place."

"Won't let my freedom rot in hell."

12. "I'm not here for you."

"Try not to hurt yourself."

13. "Put what we had aside. I'm standing by her side."

"You better call Becky with the good hair."

14. "You will never be satisfied. God, I hope you're satisfied."

"Ashes to ashes. Dust to side chicks."

15. "There are moments that the words don't reach. There is suffering too terrible to name."

"Every promise don't work out that way."

28 Daily Thoughts of College Students

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
