Sometimes life is really hard and unexplainable. We all want to think that we have everything under control and that we don't need help from anyone. The truth is, everyone needs help at some point in their life. There's times in my life that I don't want anyone's help, but I know I can't succeed on my own. In those times, I turn to quotes. They're easy to read and are so motivating. When I seem to fail, the inspiration from my favorite quotes gets me through the day. Here are 15 quotes to inspire, encourage or simply give you insight on how to deal with hardships and everyday struggles.

1. "One of the most important keys to success is having the discipline to do what you know you should do, even when you don't feel like doing it." -unknown

Sometimes we don't want to step out of our comfort zone or we're not willing to chase a dream because we think it's too hard. It's time to get off the couch and put in the work required to succeed!

2. "Life is short, live it. Love is rare, grab it. Anger is bad, dump it. Fear is awful, face it. Memories are sweet, cherish them," -unknown

This quote sums up what life is mostly all about! Just live your life and enjoy it, go make some great memories. You only get on life, use it wisely!

3. "Self-confidence is the most attractive quality a person can have. How can anyone see how awesome you are if you can't see it yourself?" -unknown

While I don't agree that self-confidence is the most attractive quality, I believe it's definitely one of the qualities that improves ones' beauty immensely. I struggle with self-confidence and didn't really strive until I realized the value I really had. Love yourself, you're priceless!

4. "Don't be afraid to stand for what you believe in, even if you stand alone." -Andy Biersack

Some of the greatest people in history are those who stood up for what they believed in. A lot of them were on their own and had little support. That didn't stop them from doing what they thought was right. When life is getting you down and everyone is against you, stay true to who you are and what you believe in!

5. "The ultimate measure of a person is not where they stand in moments of comfort and convenience, but where they stand in times of challenge and controversy." -Martin Luther King Jr.

The hardships we face are meant to test us and make us stronger. Martin Luther was a man who faced incredible opposition but he didn't let that stop him. He helped change the world because he chose to let his hardships strengthen him.

6. "If one dream should fall into a thousand pieces, never be afraid to pick one of those pieces up and begin again." -Flavia Weedn

There are countless successful, famous people who failed many times before they accomplished the things we praise them for today. Walt Disney, for instance, was fired one time because he "lacked imagination and had no good ideas." Imagine what would have happened if he would've given up! He wouldn't have become the man who defined our childhood and created Disney! Thomas Edison was told by a teacher that he "was too stupid to learn anything," but later went on to invent world-changing devices. If you fail, pick yourself back up and try, try, try again!

7. "Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude." -Thomas Jefferson

I am living proof of this quote! I am a runner, a runner who rarely believes in herself. I had the wrong attitude and failed miserably. When I had the right mental attitude, I was a state champion in the 3,200 meters. You can do whatever you put your mind to...if you choose to have a positive attitude. Believe in yourself!

8. "You were born an original. Don't die a copy." -John Mason

We are all uniquely different from each other. No one person has the same fingerprint! Even identical twins are different from each other. Why do people work so hard to be like someone else? You are exquisite, unique, one of a kind...don't change that. Be yourself from start to finish!

9. "You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do." -Eleanor Roosevelt

I couldn't have said it better! Wake up everyday ready to face your fears head on, it's the only way to truly be confident and happy. I have a huge, crippling fear of putting myself out there and getting to know people. Once I faced that fear, I realized people aren't that scary, and I've made life-long friends because of it. Don't let your fears control your life!

10. "Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." -George Bernard Shaw

Society is always telling people how they should be and that they should do this or that to find who they are. The truth is that you should be who you want to be. Be someone that you can love and be okay with for the rest of your life.

11. "We must overcome the notion that we must be regular, it robs you of the chance to be extraordinary and leads you to the mediocre." -Uta Hagen

Once again, be yourself! It's okay if you're not "normal." Who defines what normal is anyways? Be you, if anyone judges you for that, they're the one with the problem.

12. "If they can make penicillin out of moldy bread, they can make something out of you." -Muhammad Ali

You are way better than moldy bread! Anytime you think you don't amount to anything, just remember that if mold has worth, you must have worth. You are worth more than you think!

13. "Accept your past without regrets, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear." -unknown

Once you accept the bad things that have happened to you, be confident in yourself and face your fears everyday, you will be so much happier. Hanging on to the negative things in life will only cause you more pain.

14. "Life consists not in holding good cards but in playing the cards you hold well."-Josh Billings

You can't choose what cards you're dealt in life. You just have to take what you've been given and do the best you can. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!

15. "Hatred paralyzes life, love releases it. Hatred confuses life, love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life, love illuminates it." -Martin Luther King Jr.

Don't let hate rule your life, forgive and move on. Hatred will hurt you, not the person you hate. It'll tear you apart without even affecting them. People are going to hate you. Like Taylor Swift sang, "haters gonna hate." Love in return, be light and make a difference.

Any time you're feeling down or just need a little extra encouragement, quotes are the way to go!

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
