With Thanksgiving fast approaching, there's bound to be table talk with all the family you haven't seen since you left for college in August. So here's a couple questions I know I'll probably be asked (I'm sure you will too), along with a gif and my response. Enjoy!

1. How's school going?

It's going. And yes, that's the best answer I can give you honestly. Finals are in three weeks and I'm definitely not ready for them.

2. Are you getting all A's?

Oh no no no. I wish though.

3. Are you talking to any boys?

Actually, yes, yes I am.

4. Can I see a picture of him?

*Stalks Facebook real quick*

5. How's your job?

At least that's what it feels like. It's good.

6. Are you ready for finals/next semester?

YES. Bring on 2017!

7. Are you ready for Christmas/your birthday?

If this even a question?? YES. YES. YES. One hundred times yes. CHRISTMAS!

8. Have you been partying a lot?

Define partying...

9. What do you want for Christmas/your birthday?

Honestly just some new clothes.

10. Your hair's getting so long, are you going to do anything to it?

NO CUT.

11. What did you do to your phone?

I may or may not have dropped it. Twice.

12. Did you get into nursing school yet?

No further explanation needed.

13. When do you come home for the holidays?

December 16th!

14. Are you living in an apartment next year?

Yes, and it's about to be the most pimped out crib around. I wish MTV cribs still existed.....

15. Aren't you glad you came home?

Just kidding, of course I am.

Pretty accurate? Yeah I thought so. Happy Thanksgiving!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
