POPSUGAR

The leaves are falling and the pumpkins are patching! Fall is such a cozy time of the year and there always seems to be such appreciation, happiness, and creativity in the air. It's a season of expression and celebration of life, family, friends, and togetherness. Being an October baby myself, fall has always had a special place in my heart. Am I the only one who gets that warm, "home" feeling when the season rolls around? Whether you are an autumn aficionado or not, you have to love the creativity of this season. It's always fun to see what you can come up with and maybe just even impress your friends and family. Because the season would just be incomplete without a few inviting pumpkins, here are 15 different designs I'm falling for this season!

1. The Cute, Classic Pumpkin.

You can't go wrong with these friendly faces! Plus, they are easy for beginning carvers.

2. The Mod Podge Pumpkin.

Perfect for if you can't get enough of fall. Love seeing those beautiful, falling leaves? Why not bring them inside?

3. The Mummy Pumpkin.

Super kid-friendly! Forgot to decorate in time for the trick-or-treaters? Just wrap your pumpkin with gauze and hot glue googly eyes and you're good to go! Don't have a readily available supply of googly eyes? Break out a permanent marker and draw them directly onto the surface!

4. The Candy Corn Pumpkin.

I can't say exactly how many people actually enjoy eating candy corn ... But do they make for the cutest pumpkins! Section off the colors and use a foam brush to achieve that gradual effect.

5. The Calligraphy Pumpkin.

For all my lettering guys and gals out there! Single words or short phrases on smaller pumpkins make for a great welcome or accent piece — both inside and outside!

6. The Football Pumpkin.

Fall, pumpkins, good food, great weather, even better company, and football? How much better could it get?

7. The Monogram Pumpkin.

Halloween might be full of ghouls and ghosts, but who says your doorstep can't be "Pinterest worthy" the rest of the season?

8. The Faux Carving Pumpkin.

So maybe drills and carving tools aren't exactly your best friends ... or you wan't to keep the kiddos out of harm's way. By painting the pumpkins to have faces, you can still have your Halloween pumpkins but without all the sharp edges.

9. The Glitter Pumpkin.

Looking for some front porch wow factor? In honor of your Pumpkin Spice Lattes, spice up your pumpkins with a little glitter!

10. The Witch Pumpkin.

One sees a stem, another sees a nose! Who would have thought? This little lady will score you creativity points with a little scare factor too.

11. The Themed Pumpkin.

Black, white, and orange all over! A little painted twist on the Halloween classic colors.

12. The Kooky Pumpkin.

A new face to add to your carving repertoire! This little guy is too cute and serves as a nice challenge to a beginning to intermediate carver.

13. The Minion Pumpkin.

You can never have too many minions! There are so many different looks that you could create an entire pumpkin minion army. These little fellas will also probably be friendly faces to youngsters out on Halloween night, tired of gremlins and goblins!

14. The Creepy Pumpkin.

A Halloween would not be the same without a classic Jack-o'-lantern to light up the night! The fan favorite when it comes to pumpkin carving season.

15. The Glow in the Dark Pumpkin.

Bet this wasn't what you had in mind when you thought of glowing pumpkins. By using glow in the dark paint, these pumpkins don't require candles or power, so they are free to roam the yard. What a great way to really make your house or yard pop!

Whether you're a carver, painter, calligrapher, or crafter, you can't go wrong with these unique pumpkin looks! Creative pumpkin design is relatively new to the scene, so hop on board and join in on the fun.

April Ludgate

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.

Amidst my hectic college career, I always find time for one thing, even on the busiest weeks: Parks and Recreation. This show has made me laugh and has made me cry, but most of all I have related to this show more than I would like to admit.
